Indoor The "Let's try this again..Grow Thread

I am THEE worst, hence the title of this thread

So clearly this is my 9 billionth attempt at a grow journal lol. All fingers crossed you guys...and maybe gals, but im pretty sure its just me lol

Last grow I did come across some...issues to put it nicely lol. To be truthful? These plants were dead on their feet...er...their roots Idk what the issue was. I was taking pH readings with the Accurate 8 soil tester but I'ma go head and say I shouldn't rely on JUST that, that i should monitor run off as well lol I can't say for certain it was pH, cause, well.i'm not a botanist lol. The accurate read 6.5 plus or minus .1 or .2 every time. So who knows I also considered a salt build up, but, instead of flushing (if salt build up was the culprit, flushing would of helped, no?) I just kept on feeding lol so, for this grow I got some GH FloraKleen, which I've clearly never used before lol. so if any one out there in the AFN world has experience with it- good or bad - I'd like some input...please

I cant imagine how awesome they woulda been had they not struggled, cause i'll tell ya what, I got some nice fucking plants out of it lol For anyone stalking me from my old grow journal, I did grow my friend the Double Afghan, since she didn't care lol and for myself, I went with Black Skull Diesel-Matic, and, what seems to have made it's way into my top 5 strains - Mephisto Sour Hound

This girl, seriously, had it all *snap snap* (ahahhaa <---- <3 Zoidberg lol). The smell. The taste. The yield. AND had whatever it was that I need (medicinally speaking). All around awesome plant. In the description it says ' Chosen as a favourite limited edition cross by a great organic grower and MS sufferer.' I wouldnt say I'm a great organic grower, by ANY stretch lol, but I am indeed an MS patient, not so much a sufferer though lol but it's definitely become a favorite for me, and I realllllllyyyyyy hope limited edition means something other than not going to be around forever lol because that would be terribly unfortunate. Just sayin' lol

So. For this grow, HOPEFULLY things go a bit smoother. If you're tagging along for the ride, hooray!! If not, fuck off, I don't want you reading my shit anyhow lmao.

So I did manage to get a few pictures from the last grow off of my phone prior to it dying for good...that's a story in itself but don't worry, I wont tell it

imo ,if ya want it that is LOL firstly its good to see you back.but in all honesty checking the PH and all that sorta stuff is a pain and has inherent issues that shuffle to the fore front rather quickly.

GBD's simple organics soil mix is crazy easy,Kind soil we(AFN) are testing now,or the recipe I use.either one will solve every issue you have.for cost effectivness Id look to get a cpl packs of gbd's simple soil additive for autos. give it a look.sove yer issues for cheap assuming its not water issues.

Ok you guys. I really wanna grow this Headband out, but I'm nervous lol. I've been reading some stuff about the headband from Loud Seeds and I guess a lot of people's plants hermed on them, balls ERRWHURR lol I was reading one journal somewhere...mighta been ICMAG idk, but his whole tent was pollinated (when he wasn't trying to lol) from this one plant...and Im not tryina do that lol but its been soo long since i've had me some headband lol anyone have experience with Loud seeds and can you credit or discredit the 'loud seeds always herm'?

My biggest plant yet! well deserved too with me pretty much failing every single grow over the 2 years i've been growing. Feels like I finally graduated from the noob academy ;D

I've never heard of loud seeds but my advice would be to grow them without anything else in the tent if you want to do it. Maybe wait until all the current stuff finishes and then start them. Or time it right so by the time they hit flower everything else will be finished.

I hope her yield turns out wonderful for you...and that you love it lol (how'd you like it the first time you grew her?) I got almost 2 zips from mine, and like I said, she was dead on her feet for a hot minute lol so I cant imagine what you'll get from your monster. IDK where abouts your located, but, you don't need to twist my arm, I'll certainly come over and smoke her with you we will look like my avatar- big and red with a bong
The only thing our plants have in common is giant fan leaves the size of your head lol unfortunately this is what she looked like come chop time (please excuse the mess behind her. This was taken in my craft room before taking her down stairs for the actual chop, where, its, you know. Clean ) Her main cola was ginormous, and once dry, weighed 7.5 grams. Solid buds = good times. Everything's better with a bag of weed!

It was awful ballsy to switch from coco to hydro..I could never do that, I'd be too afraid. I've always grown in soil and can barely do that. so switching to hydro when I still have issues growing in soil would be dumb...super dumb lol I probably would end up with NO weed lol.

See, thats what I said! It isn't like we don't have the means to grow the autos in the tent and grow the photo (the headband is a photo) in the old grow room/big ass walk in closet. When we got the tent it came with a 400W air cooled light, so we still have the 250W and all the CFL bulbs from growing in the closet, but the boyfriend says grow it in the tent and just keep an eye on it...buuuutt...I don't wanna run that risk, and he's the one that pays the bills ahahaha.

It's funny you say that about soil because I tried hydro precisely because I kept having bad grows with soil and coco. People say hydro is hard but I've personally found it far easier than anything else. an ph perfect nutes + calmag + water and i'm done. That's literally all I do, don't even check ph. It's fucking amazing lol. Maybe one day you will try it. I bet if you do you will be mad at yourself for thinking it would be hard and not getting dwc results sooner. ;D

You dont have to check your pH?! Fuck man, I'm on the wrong page of the wrong damn book! hahah, cause constantly checking my pH is SUCH a pain in the dick. Or do you just not have to check it because you use the pH perfect nutes? I'd like to try it, but everything I've read regarding DWC says don't even BOTHER trying until you've mastered growing in soil. Apparently though, you're the exception to that statement lol and your SH is the proof! lol
