ive heard of hard to reverse strains , ive yet to come accross one myself though , and there has always been the reports that true cheese couldnt be reversed

im gunna have to think up some threads to start for stuff like that , or one big in general type thread , we can all share experiences , just gotta find a way to ask that people post exactly that , "experiences" and not hearsay

would like a sticky or 2 devoted to any and all situations , questions , and answers , will definately need help though from cres and any other experienced sts users as i gave up on sts long ago due to not knowing what i was doing and lack of proper info posted online

Question for you CS masters out there... I'm working on making some CS now and it's been going now for 36hrs! I'm only at 3ppm after a day an a half? WTF! I'm wondering if its taking this long as I'm using an old cell phone charger that's rated at 5.7v using silver wire ( less surface area of silver? ) and also filled up a qt mason jar with distilled water... Could it be taking this long due to the Amt of h2o and also cause I'm using a lower voltage ? Maybe silver wires is to small for a larger amount of water? It's not bothering me running, just curious... Ill let it go for days until I see above 20ppm...
Thoughts?

The gauge of the wire should be 14. What is your amperage? Also how far apart are your electrodes? Also silver nitrate is not the only form of silver con artist sell crap instead of the goods--only the tiniest amount of lead in the silver and the generator will make bad CS.

PS more water = more time. Don't increase voltage or current--use more time.

The wire is 14g I was using 5.7v charger though not sure what you mean by amp? It says 110-240v on there I'm in the us so we use 110v. I had the wires about two " apart. I just switched out wall charger and hooked up one single 9v battery... Will let that run fun a few hours till I go to work than will switch it back to the wall charger while I'm at work.... This is taking forever but I'm thinking it will be very good CS as it took so long to make. Am hoping that means smaller silver particles, which from my understanding the plant will absorb easier... We'll see ;)

wow , only 3 ppm ? do you have a volt meter to test to see if the charger works at 100% , sometimes crossing the wires isnt enough , id try that too though to see if it works at all , it wont hurt you , you will see a small spark is all , just dont leave the wires touching each other

something cant be right , im useing a 6 volt right now which isnt far off your 5.7 and i get 3 ppm in the first hour , what is the mA rated at ? if its bellow 300 that could be the problem

seeing that you switched to a 9 v battery id say your ppms should be quite a noticable bit higher within a couple hours

keep us updated

On your charger it should be expessed as ma for milliamp amp is short for amperage but the 9 volt trick is in the ball park. Your wires should run parralell at 1/2 inch, 2 inches will make it take forever specialy with how much of a batch your making.

made and used a 1 gallon generator for a while making a few batches with it , had the wires approx 2 inches and ran the thing for 3 days lol

it worked though

in my 1 litre generator i dont notice much if any time difference at a half inch or 2 inches , maybe due to useing an air stone and in a small space , the way i see it is once the electricity is pumping between em its no different up to 2 inches , i doubt id wanna try more then that though

Really curious to see what the ppm is now when I get home from work (aprox will be 9hrs left alone) difference this time? I added an air stone... Doh! I forgot before, no wonder it was taking so long...

Yoda you will find that the rate of generation builds rapidly after the first silver adds in. The silver makes the water more conductive and then things speed up
(scientist call it logarithmically -what do they know?). So it might take 10 hours to get from 0 to 5ppm and then 1 hour to go up to 20. So watch out for that, it sneaks up and then zoom---too late.

Than too late for what? I'm hoping I don't get home and three days of doing this are down the drain..
Wish I could make it home now to check! Lol! Another hour an half...
