Quote Arctic Sun:
"Its very important that they are exposed to wind as little as possible, find a spot that is sheltered from winds. Winds are cold and will prevent growth in cold climates, winds will also make the wet leaves rub against the buds in the autumn causing mold."

There are two sides to this,i think..
sure, i get your point Arctic, but the wind also
helps drying out the buds - but again, down here
"south" at Lat58N. the winds are not that
extreme or cold...

What´s your genetics for 2011?
Very curious !

Edit:Aww! didn´t see your post..

You are right ofc, down south you may want some wind. The conditions are just so different really, you have a lot of dark nights with temps over 20c. Your conditions are almost tropical to me hehe.. syden :D

ive got quite a few strains that i want to try out this year, i really dont know which will finish and which will not. ive got everything from short term amnezia, thaipan, pehkuruder to bluestreak, autoak47xecsdxbluestreak, speedy G, purple M, auto ak47 etc etc etc Its really going to be about testing as much as possible this year. I hope to get a hold maybe of some of wiz genetix to try aswell. Id love to try some of LBHs stuff too when the oportunity arises.

Syden...yeah!

Seems like we have to design the genes into pretty "sharp zones, then?!

Lat.70N / Lat.66N / Lat58N for example..

Yeah,i know - some names are prob.already in use..
but here are some suggestions to naming the Arctic strains
for the future!

hehe i cant copyright all of these names. Arctic haze is a cross that already exists tho and Star 69 is a name ill be using :)

I particularly like Queensland tho, since the arctic is the negatively charged (feminine) pole, its been called "terra feminarium" in latin.

Dude! love all the names... fukin great!

Thnaks for the education as well.. I was unaware of the artic haze phenomenon.. love the name too.. sounds like a killer strain... big fan of SSH...

Was also unaware of this despite my extensive background in RF theory and MUF... I never looked into which pole was charged with what... though it seems exceedingly relevant suddenly!

yes we will see a lot of regionally adapted strains in the time to come, one strain will not cover it, there may be some strains that are significantly more popular then others but there will be a great number of specially customized strains. There are people working on acclimatizing strains all across the taiga belt now. We will see adapted strains coming out of every Scandinavian county and from Russia, Alaska and Canada aswell in the years to come. God only knows how many breeders are working quietly on autos atm, im guessing quite a lot. Especially Finland has come far with this work. Every test report and every ripe bean we harvest gets us one step closer, getting the info out there is important.

Let me know if you want to do a selection with arctic haze, they may finish at your lat, i made the f1's in 09 and since then i havent had the opportunity to work on them so they are still lieing around, but ive had positive reports from a tester.

Oh yes one can get philosophical regarding the magnetic flow through the earth. :)
