I've noticed when vaping, the first couple of hits, no visible vape exhale. All terpene goodness.
Sets off healing wave of feeling in my body. Don't get much of the terpenes when I smoke, up in smoke I guess.

I get the exact opposite. When I vape weed, it all tastes the same to me. Good, but pretty much the same. When I smoke, I can taste all the little nuances in the smoke I could not in the vape.
