Completed The 2021 Outdoor Auto/Photo Competition!

m running a Bruce Lemon Diesel outdoor currently in lower Michigan n I'm very pleased if u would like any feedback or my end result let me know n I can tag you in on it. She's a beautiful bush n has been a joy to grow so far outdoor! Strong healthy genetics I'm looking forward to toking on her come November!
Best one I've seen here to date! :spels:
I have a much, much, much better idea for next year.
Where to grow -- because I've seen what happens to each site over the whole summer to autumn now.
When to grow -- start later, mid-May to even mid-June starts should work fine.
What to grow -- well, that hasn't been the problem, but ideally fast autos and may give super fast photos a try here.
How to grow -- not much wrong with my technique, but will go with bigger starting pots this time, maybe 2 or 3 plants / pot.
We should chat about cultivars for you my friend - ... there are a few private bred girls that may fit the bill for very fast photo's I know of - :eyebrows:... Ones that have fast regular (non-auto) type photo parents(s) x Auto parents, Mighty Mite crosses, and such,... Real Gorilla Seeds is a good seed store to look into as well,...
T20M, keep an eye out on them too! Adam is cooking lots of stuff up, who knows what might be offered along the lines of (not for sale but testable) "F1 FV's", auto's as well... Many of their line-up have very good mold resistance and speed...
Consider that Plagron Super Mix stuff too, that will cover your nute-butt for a while on guerilla grows, if the pot is big enough. If not, it'll still reduce your need to feed as much... The KIS Organics stuff I'm using would be great too, but likely not mailable to UK...? It's a similar product to SuperMix, which Ribbzzy used to excellent effect!

Well I woke up to a horror story..
Nice looking photo was literally just wilted touching ground almost...
Drowned the shit out of it and waited just when I gave up and went for coffee to swear without waking anyone...
She’s back up!!! I’m gonna say I cranked up the feed yesterday to like 1400ppm,
And it turned into a pig, I have to time the last feed better so it stays wetter at nighttime.. which is so sketchy
I’ll snap a shot of everything when lil momo takes a nap.
Had PM on the autos..
What a battle crept up real high in an hour...
sprayed the shit outta it with baking soda
Napkins with milk rubbing leaves..
Woke up today it’s only really on two lower branches gonna give another spray an milk rub.. if it’s still attached I’ll amputate where ever..
Should have tried that phyter or w/e

Here’s a night flash yesterday

Yeah... cold climate cultivars... have been looking into it.
There are still LBH's photos and autos, I don't mind regs, do a little pollen chucking on anything that thrives in these conditions.
And of course Real Gorilla Seeds are UK strains all the way, if a little pricier...
With the look of that Auto Go-Go girl I will def think about Twenty20 again, as they are all bred outdoors. If they have FV F1s now... :D
Much to think about.
Have been oogling Mr Nice lately. Their auctions give great reg photos at bargain prices.
Maybe try some of their super fast skunk and afghani crosses, at 42-50 days, already like FVs!
Too many ideas in my head, not enough resources or length to the season to try them all out.
But don't worry, I'll be growing something, somehow, hahaahaa!

Very pretty girl!

Rain this season has been crazy! I'm clipping every damn bit that could give mold a foot hold. Good thing both remaining girls are very healthy.
I had rain from late afternoon to just a little bit ago. Rain gauge shows 4.5 in. Seems my cover worked fine for the smaller Haze in 15gal pot.
Both girls got sprayed with Phyter a little bit ago after getting home from a visit to a vampire lady at the doc's office.

Her buds are developing very nice.

Big Haze is doing great. I had to clip a bud at close to the top. Damn spider had woven leaves together around a bud and those leaves turned brownish in one day. Not wanting to take a chance, I tried to clip it with just my thumbnail, but that wasn't happening. I got my knife out and took care of it. I've noticed that she is MUCH more tough than the other haze. I've given her 3 doses of Microbial Mass that's supposed to help with making flowering nutes available. That may have helped, but I can't see that being a big reason for more silica in the plant to toughen it up. This was fairly new growth, so I don't see how it could be quite that tough.

Does Chitin toughen up the plant like silica? With the abundance of helpers in the Earthbox, namely the compost mites, I would imagine there's quite a bit of chitin being made available with what I assume is a pretty short lifespan of the compost mite.

Update #9 @Waira
Photoperiod Strains: Banana Piepaya, High Society, and Purple Afghan Kush,
Approximately 136 days old; now 3 days into flower development
All is progressing well. Constant daily leaf plucking.

First a couple of shot of Banana Piepaya; fairly bushy and a bit shorter than the other two.

Next up is Purple Afghan Kush. I have "high expectations" for her. So far, she's doing pretty well.

136.PAK b.jpg

And finally, High Society. Not only is she the tallest, but her branches are developing what looks like may become abundant bud growth. Here's several shots.

Does Chitin toughen up the plant like silica?
Chitin/chitase (enzyme) stimulates the SAR response (systemic acquired resistance), basically a red alert to the plant telling it that something is munching on it so time to ramp up defenses,... Trich's are, mainly, a defensive/protective structure on many kinds of plants...
....bug frass (turds) can do this (contain chitin/-ase), so does aspirin (I tinker with this myself) with contains salicylic acid, the hormone responsible for SAR response.

Bill, I'm stoked you got going on the Phyter when you did, even with such a short treatment time, it should help! That, and the Sati'/Thai side has good mold resistance from where they grow natively, and the more open bud structure. If that was a hard-bud Affy landrace-type, she'd be a pool for grey slime by now!

I'll have to tug Adam's ear about the "F1FV" types, obviously not for sale per se, but he's clearly game for letting volunteers try something in development out!
This Bisquik I have now isn't near release yet, but I was stoked to get it to try based on the grow-outs they had of it so far- ... it's a longer cycle type in most pheno's, so he said they will work on speed in following F-gen's....

Panik (RGS) is on another forum I'm at, so I can ask him anything you like about cultivars if you fancy...
I'm not sanguine about some Skunks and Affy crosses for mold resistance, best inquire about specifics,... That said, Female Seeds Skunk Special did hold up well for me though, and she's very fast! Outstanding aroma too, I got the fruity-lemon PEZ smelling one, not the stanky pheno',...

:greenthumb::smokeout:... looking stellar Sky, and I'm glad I'm not alone in staring at a weirdly late bloom season!
I'm a bit concerned actually, Oct. can be dicey for weather here, and seems likely it'll be mid-late Oct before I'm done...
I hope weather holds for you as well,... next year, maybe look into Phyter/RotBlock to try out... Meantime, you'll get a preview right here! Jean and GTG have been using it to good effect so far,...
Pics of what I could save of NYC Diesel…
 ... what you saved looks killer my friend! Pic your girl for the polls, and put the pics in the Depot thread I made please...
Do you run a PC? Can you do some editing with Paint? If not, I can crop and rotate the dry bud pic for entry if you like,...
