Tent Questions

Hi all...I didn't see anything specific on tent set ups and so forth...

So I'm going to sticky this thread for any questions and answers that you members with tents, can answer...

Also, if you have any pics of how your tent is set up, please post them...Pictures say a 1000 words...:thumbs:
Basically, as far as pics go, mostly looking for how yours is set up...Not so much about the plants...

Thanks for your cooperation and I hope this thread gets the attention that new tent buyers, like myself, can gain some info...

I own a GL145 and a hydrohut 2 x 4 with no regrets bro :thumbs: Honestly this may ruffle some feathers but I feel the growlab is a better tent for a lot less over the SJ's

Would three 15L airpots be pushing it in regards to space in a 80x80x180 tent ? Was initially planning for 12L pots but they are not sold where I plan to shop.

seems like this is the go to thread for tent questions -- here i go!

i was hoping to get some help regarding a tent set up for the near future (when money allows it.)

here is the biggest tent i can fit in a corner space - semi hidden :thumbs:

from micro to a slightly bigger space

here is what i have in the list so far:

1) GL40 grow tent (16" x 16" x 47") -- so much for an upgrade right?!
- should allow me to grow: 4 small plants (1 gallon container) / 2 bigger plants (2-3 gallon containers)

2) 135w blackstar LED
- hoping this should be enough light for the space and the plants

3) carbon filter

- this is a MUST HAVE!! and it has to be able to handle the plants in this tent
*this is also where im confused -- so many out there and which one has fans and doesnt have fans?! LOL

150 - 200 CFM should be enough for this space right?
if so -- then i am looking @ a 4" carbon filter

a) 4"x8" phresh 150 cfm with pre filter

Yes, carbon control is key. The Phresh combo seems like a great deal. I use the Phat filters and they work great, same company and Phresh are the better ones. 4 inch will be plenty for that space especially using LED...and with that UFO, I think you'll have some penetration issues(hopefully not what she said ) but you could throw a couple cfls or 2 foot T5s on the sides if you needed to. My

i was looking into adding some side lighting as well (that would be the addition once everything else is purchased)

the 4x8 150 cfm should be enough right? or would you recommend the 4x12 200cfm?
also -- this might be a stupid questions but: those filters has fans right? or is that a separate purchase?

4x8 would be fine, 4x12 will last longer. Up to you...

Choices 1 and 2 are just the filter, choice 3 is a combo including both. But it's an unknown name brand it seems and that's why it's so cheap. I wouldn't skimp on my fan or filter ever, you're asking for it if you do IMO, man. Get something you know works...The filters are good choices..Hydrofarm makes good, cheap inline fans. The green ones, that's what I use...Not super quiet but cheap and has a 5 year warranty and you can do things to help with the fan noise...but I have to keep mine cranked because of my light and exhaust setup. With LEDs and if you can vent your exhaust outside or another room you would be good with that fan at about 1/3 power which is pretty damn quiet. :thumbs: But you'll need the added speed controller for that too. Its like $17 or so.

Any combo that is sold together should work together fine...IMO.as long as they're within 30 or so cfm matched up they should be fine.

Hi im just finishing my tent which i made my self . Im will be growing 4 think diffrent autofems i coco fiber ... Im a first time grower and im just wondering as i have 2 250w hps and one 250w metal halide and im just wondering wchich would be a better set up .. one 250 metal halide at the start lets say for first 4 weeks and then swap to 2 250w hps or should i just leave 3 lamps (2 hps and one metal halide) from the start ... Thanks
