I have read about problems with chlorine and chloramine in tap water. I read that you cannot evaporate chloramine. I am using Dr earth dry fertilizer mixed in with coco with autos in autopots though hand watering for now. I use tap water with calmag with silicon on there.

Would you recommend using the tap water like it is or let it sit out like 24 hours or would you use an additive to remove chlorine and chloramine to keep it from messing with beneficial microbes in the organic fertilizer on there?

I personally like to let mine sit out for awhile before use I also add a lil wormcastings to boost microbes. I have used it straight an still had great plants but I prefer to let it sit out .

Thanks. Do you know if your tap water has chloramine or only chlorine? I read that letting the water sit out does not remove chloramine on there. Do you top dress ewc or use teas? I would rather top dress if possible as teas seems like something I would need more equipment for and I am in an apartment and do not want to brew teas in here.

Thanks. Do you top dress then when it runs out?

I'm using tap water ppm400 ph 8.6 .. I let it sit min 24hr in bucket with air stone..Fck. Every time I end watering , I fill my bucket with water treh in air stone and let it sit until next watering..

As far as I know chloramine stays in the water . I use neither , ewc or teas , I amend my soil which gets me about 2/3 of the way , then small amounts of organic nutrients .
At what point do you decide to start supplementing with nutes? What kind are you using? (Edit: I see you expanded on that in a subsequent post).

I am doing kind soil under roots organic original in 1-2 gallon pots and am trying to make a plan if/when the soil is depleted due to the small pots.

I have some more kind soil I could top-dress, an unopened GO Box, and some dry Roots Organic Uprising so I have a couple options.

First I will tell you I use 27 liter of soil in pots , With the small pots you use they will not last very long with that amount of soil , even if you top up with more soil it will only be a small amount . I use Fulvic acid - Humic acid - Amino acid .- Liquid sea weed - Molasses - Sea minerals - Fish pond water - Bat guano liquid , Soil is no less than 3 months old and has 100s of worms in it , I supplement the last 3 to 4 weeks of flowering with small amounts of P . K . and Molasses . I top dress with soil 2 weeks into flowering , it has more P.K in it . Nitrogen is from fish hydrolysate . if I add it after potting up it is very small amounts around week 4 of flower , as the fish pond water has small amounts , most is in the soil from fish hydrolysate . The soil I make is very high in microbes . I can't comment on the soils you use as they are not available here in Australia .
The best thing you can do is learn to understand nutrients and soil building , this is just a guide of what I do .
