Depends on the kind of humidifier. If ultrasonic you will get a fine white Ca/Mg mist/power over everything including the plant, your pre-filter or filter, and (potentially) your lungs - so use demineralized (distilled/RO, etc). If an evaporative cooler, tap is ok. HTHWill using tap water in a humidifier hurt my plants.

You're good to go.I am using a evaporative humidifier.
Does boiling your water beforehand help with this? I had no idea and just got a ultrasonic one.Depends on the kind of humidifier. I don't think boiling changes anything. I've used ultrasonic humidifier for several years now and, yes, it does leave residue on surfaces where moisture collects. Is this an issue? No. I'm 99% sure that it isn't.Does boiling your water beforehand help with this? I had no idea and just got a ultrasonic one.![]()
Have you seen any effect on growth or any burns because of it? I've not used it yet, but if it negatively impacts anything I'd be worried.I don't think boiling changes anything.
