Indoor switching from mh to hps

when i make the switch do i have to let the plants be in total darkness for atleast 24 hours?

Sometimes it takes more than 16 minutes to get a reply!

.........no you do not leave them in the dark for 24hrs, just switch the light.

But why is the topic called switching from mh to hps that's bulbs, I use mh for the first 3-4 weeks then switch to hps for the rest of the grow if that helps
