SUP AFN! Been lurking round these forums for a bit, Just ordered my seeds from the 'tude waiting on them now, they should be here soon. Ordered-
Sweet Seeds Auto Collection
-Speed Devil x2
-Big Devil x2
-Fast bud x2
And i got 3 Afghan Ryders from WOS.

I decided to go with AF this time my first grow was photoperiod and the most valuable lesson i learned was PATIENCE lol. I will be using a hydro setup from hydrofarm.
Here is my setup
-Emilys Garden System from hydrofarm.
-600 WATT Cool Tube HPS Dual Spectrum w/ 240 Cfm fan on the tube
-6x6x6 grow tent
I still have the same pump that i got with the system just went looking for it and cant find it which is no big deal because i am pretty sure i am going to need a bigger/better one so i can run all 9 plants of from the one pump. Any suggestions on the new pump would be GREATLY appreciated.
For the nutes this grow im going with PH Perfect Sensi Grow A&B, Voodoo Juice,B-52 and Overdrive and Big Bud. I have not ordered them yet I have the Big Bud from my last grow that i never got to use. (whole nother story behing that)
I ran into some problems in my first grow using the emilys garden system , i grew photo period berry bomb from THC. I used all 6 pots the system came with and there wasnt really enough room, the roots had enough but the plants didnt have enough space (prolly because my failed scrog attempt and the noob attempt i made to lst them) I am wondering if i am going to have the same problem with these autos. I was going to plant the Collection Pack in the Emilys Garden system and make some DIY buckets for the Afghan.
-Do you think the the 6 beans contained in the collection pack will fit in the Emilys Garden?
-Should I plant 4 in it instead of 2 leaving the middle row empty so they have room to grow both on the inside and the outside?
-What do you think of my selection of nutes (having not ordered yet i can always change based on what is best)
-What should my light schedule be 24/0? 18/6? i was hoping i could go with 18/6 because the 600 watt hps on 24/0 is gonna kill my light bill.
I put my tent in a shed that i have in the back of my house, its behind my house so you cant see it from the road i live in the country so i don't worry about cops. I have PTSD from serving in Iraq as infantry from 06-08 so i dont do visitors, only thing i worry about is flyovers and thats only when my in-laws start yapping about it. I run an extension cord from my house (well its a mobile home trailer w/e you wanna call it) I ran into some trouble last grow where the cord got shorted out causing me to flip and harvest em early. Is there a certain gauge cord i need??
Super Excited to get started with my grow, I learned a lot doing my first grow, and alot more since i decided to go with autos my next grow and found this forum. I really appreciate any advice/input. THANKS

Good to meet you oxykush, Thank you for your service. I have been thinking of that Emilys garden, Have not seen one in use. Those are some great strains you picked, Im thinkin that mabey you should try growing one of each strain in the garden. So using 4 pots with the 4 strains, That way you can dial your system in and not potentially ruin you whole bean collection.
I cant help you with that nutrient line, I currently am using the Advanced Nutrients Jungle Juice 2 part a & b, Bud Blood flower Booster, Bud Candy enhancer, Turantula microbes and Piranah benificial stuff I forget exactly. Got them in my grow room with the lights off now so cant be exact on what it is, But they all are some great nutrients. Why not try any of the Groboxes that some companies offer so that you dont spend a fortune on somthing that dont suit you.
Im gonna keep an eye on your garden if your going to do a journal for us using that hydro system. Would like to follow allong to see how she works and lend a hand with any answers that I could help answer for you if I can. Good Luck and see you around K.I.M.

oh nice! cant wait to see how these develop = ) i would keep things 18/6 and i would make sure the breaker circuit your using that cord is from a circuit/room that dosent have alot of things plugged in all the time,that way you can run most of the amps you'll need from that 1 cord,you may need a heater if this is really outside during winter although i think the cold just stunts them and makes them take longer and you dont get as much but you still get good bud.yeah photo period seeds suck lolz auto's where it's at haha

Great idea on using 4 strains in the garden i dint even think about that lol :stoned:My first grow i used flora nova but i didnt like how it made my water look it was hard to tell if it was dirty or just from the nutes. Not exactly sure what you mean by Groboxes. Are u talking about when they bundle 3 or 4 nutes in one box?
@armory Here in louisiana it usally stays warm and i figure by the time i get em in the mail and get em sprouted it should be the beginning of spring, figure i turn lights off from 10am-4pm or from 12-6pm because thats when i hear choppers flying and also because the heat from the light should keep it warm enough in there if it does happen to get cold at night.

Yes exactly what I was talkin about. Those bundle boxes that are around 40 bucks or somthing like that. Great products that will give you a chance to check them out before comitting to spending a small fortune on all the nutrients/additives/enhancers and the like. K.I.M.

Been busy since my last entry, (post w/e u wanna call it) Seeds came in Yesterday. Went to lowes purchased 6 10ft 1 1/2" pvc pipes for the tent, i forgot to buy the pieces for the corners (90degree T's if thats what they are called i have no clue). I also got 5 5gallon buckets. Will be getting them setup here shortly and post pics of the buckets as well as the completed pvc pipe frame for my tent. Ordered 1L each of PH Perfect Sensi Grow and Bloom A&B, also ordered B-52. And Big Bud as well. Thats all i am going to use for nutes and i was kind of hesitant to get that many. I wanted to just stick with Sensi Grow and bloom to keep it simple, but i figured what the hell adding the b-52 couldnt complicate things too much more.

I also ordered a digital thermometer and Doc Mcstuffins travel bag for my daughter (hey i had to justify the amazon purchase somehow). I ordered a replacement 600 watt bulb too, I learned my first grow that its always best to have a spare bulb because u never know when ones gonna go and then you have to wait for the new one to come in the mail.

Ok guys i got my tent all setup outback in the shed, Used the pvc pipes to replace the frame that orginally came with the tent. Ran into multiple issues using the pvc
Lowes did not have corner t connectors for 1.5" pvc pipe i went with, so i had to use t connectors placed about 3" from where the corners of the frame are, then i used 90 degree elbows for the corners, the problem with doing this is now my vertical supports are not exaclty in the corners of the frame. The tent is up however and the lights are hung its just not the sturdiest or prettiest setup. I also made 4 5 gallon bucket dwc systems using buckets bought from lowes and 6 inch net pots. I havent germinated my seeds yet. i normally just place them inside a wet paper towel, then in a sandwich bag and put that under my direct tv reciever box. I have read on here about soaking the seeds in water overnight and then putting them into the bad w/ papertowel. I am going to use this method this time unless someone tells me otherwise. Here are the pics of my buckets and the shabby...pvc pipe frame and tent. Here are some pics. Is that reflective bubble wrap insulation going to do the job?

I wouldn't care much about the reflective wrap but I think you're doing it right...
