Back in the game.....need 2x4 lighting advice!

Yup.....I ordered the Mars SP3000 to get me started. It should be here Friday along with an order from HTG.
Sorry to hear that. I would recommend you cancel the order, if possible. If not, I would recommend you return it when it arrives.

I own a 2020 Mars SP3000. I bought mine in 2021, used it for two grows, and it's a solid performer.

Since buying that light, I have spent a lot of time (in the "thousands of hours", frankly) learning about grow lights and grow lighting. I use at least six grow lights during a grow and spent a fair amount of time last summer scouring the 2' x 4' market to a light to replace my 2020 Growcraft X3 flower light so I have some familiarity with the products in the market.

Why would I not recomend the 2024 SP3000 when the 2020 SP3000 has worked well for me? Because Mars radically changed the light last year and it is not designed for, nor is it suitable for, the home/ personal grower.

After looking into the market for a replacement light, per above, I would recommend the Spider G/SE4500 and, if you're interested in maxing out yield, I'd add their GlowR80's.

Why do you say it's not suitable for a home/personal grower?

Jeez bud, kind of crapping on his purchase here lol. I'd be curious what your reasoning is as well; the specs don't look terrible from the website.

Kind of weird that they were adamant that the SP3000 is useless but didn't give any reason for the statement. I spent a good amount of time researching the SP3000 and the Spider Farmer 4500's. Plenty of videos out there recommending and praising both. In my situation the Spider Farmer unit are an inch and a half to long and won't kit in my grow cabinet.

I have a feeling that light will grow you some good dope brother lol. But let's hear him out at least.
