Hey guys. When I started my first grow there weren't many airpots reviews to go to so I took a gamble on them. Figured they'd work even if they were ballyhoo.

I ordered them from Rogue Hydro (shipping was fast, discrete, and prices were reasonable.)

Anywho, I uprooted a male recently and thought I'd snap some pics of the rootball:

You can see there's no root circling, and the roots look healthy and plentiful.

this product does exactly what it advertises, and since they are reusable, they are very cost effective.

I used 1 gallons, I do recommend you go with a bigger pot. The one gallons are okay, but my soil is becoming exhausted of nutrients by about a month into flowering (soil is fox farm ocean forest 2/3 with perlite). Would have been nice to do 2-5 gal instead and have a big more head room.

Great post man. I will be using these soon!

Sounds good!

I plan to try some of the smart pots next. My gripe with the air pots is the tiny little holes in the pots are such a primo place for bugs to hide (which is an issue when growing with ocean forrest some times). I haven't had mites or white flies or anything destructive, but if I got the same air pruning results out of a smart pot instead, I would probably try that route for the security of not having critter hideouts built into your pots.

Right on. You growing outside? I just keep my tent steralized before the grow and haven't had problems.

I'm in doors and if I were a little more careful about my soil it wouldn't have been an issue. FFOF just seems to be naturally buggy. They don't pasteurizer their soil so insect eggs survive.

I didn't end up with mites or white flys, like I said, but there were various other colonies of insects in this batch of soil.

I filled a 5 gallon bucket with some room temperature water and submerged the pot in it for a minute or so. No more sign of any soil critters.

My issue was probably way more due to the nature of the soil i used then the air pots.

I have heard evidence of FF going down hill with the quality of their products. You could bake it in the over though, that would help. I use Promix.

Yea I should have baked it, just kind of one of those things you think of after you're already rooted in.

Right now Seymour's got me bitten by the DWC bug, so I think i'm gonna take a step back from soil for my second grow, but I'll be checking out promix very soon and seeing how it compares to the FFOF.

I'd like to even do a formal comparison of a bunch of soils side by side soon. See what works best in my environment.

I grow hydro but I think I'm gonna try the air-pots for my house plants. thanks for the report.

Im using air pots along with same size sqaure pots end air pots Defo swing it for me! As i over ferted my AKR servely the one in air pot was not as damaged as the other due to better root system developed! Also they dry out quicker... Which means more feedings!!! :D
