New Grower Suki's Perpetual Grow-a-thon

Dunno if I ever shared my plant list and drawing for the not yet existent front bed, but I got that bit knocked out this weekend too. Bulbs will come in the late fall after they've been imported from Holland but there will be a few things getting here in the next few weeks, and I'll be tying in some of hubbys existing cacti collection as the center (sandy soil) section of the planting will be styled as a bit of a rock garden. Keeping things in pots till I get the hardscaping figured out 100% and put in.

Backyard will have a mixture of raised beds for veggies and a shade garden along the back fence and under the maple, along with a path to the shed and gate and quite a bit of pea gravel. Addressing the grading is going to be a ton of fun too. Haven't planned anything plant wise for the back besides that I want a sip style raised bed in that corner between the shed, fence, and patio for cucumbers so they can be trellised up the wall/fence/and a lattice up to the balcony. Thinking I'll go out there and paint the fences a green shaded white to help reflect some of the sunlight through the space. Camellia in the back and the Japanese maple are both in desperate need of a pruning as they've bogarted a substantial amount of the sunlight now. Beds for veg (besides the cucumbers) will be over/open to the soil and I really would like to get them finished asap so that I can get canna in the ground this year instead of strictly doing them in pots lol.

I wanted an everblooming situation, so color scheme may seem unfocused from my overall selection but has been curated based on when things bloom and where they'll be planted based on ideal soil conditions lol. When I say this planning took me two full days I'm not even kidding, so many factors to take into consideration. Beds will be structured in a rock garden sort of way with the actual hardscape as it holds immense sentimental value to my husband but will be planted in a looser cottage garden styling more befitting my personality and taste lol. I can see it in my head (though I'm still drawing a blank on the overall shape the area will take) and I think it should all work fairly well, will just be a matter of doing the work to get everything ready to put things in the ground, which of course is the hardest part as I struggle with the heavy lifting when left to do it alone, which means I'll need hubbys help. Keeping the things arriving in the next few weeks potted for now and they should be alright with that, so as long as I can have all of the structural work done by fall (hopefully sooner) I can get things in either as I finish each section or once the bulbs get here at the very latest.

These are the climbing roses that will be at the end closest to the house, still need to pick a trellis I like for them as well.

Ok...that last one, the rose....American climbing what?......I'm starting to bring back an old Alachua Red Running Rose that used to be prevalent in my area of Florida and have gotten into reading up on historical roses lately.

I've always been a bit plant obsessed, I had close to 200 different houseplant varieties in our apartment before we bought the house. So, this and my canna growing addiction are really nothing new lmao.

Picked some this morning while doing cuttings.
I've never been a huge fan of receiving cut flowers because they are expensive and don't last long, but I definitely am looking forward to being able to have my own cut flower arrangements for myself and to give to my mom and grandma lol
