Look ma another update from detnutS....
Sour 60 (day 20) is definitely male, ballage everywhere
Next is Blue Streak - 1 (Day 20), it is Female
A stunted AA....
And finally BS2 & BS3 (day 14) stunted
Well that's the pretty pictures done with a little bit of info, now for some shitty writing....
Stunting: how to, why and fried rice. (also if you don't want to stunt do not do this) (most of this is hydro only as you need to be able to get out some of what you put in)
Ok, so you want to stunt your AF and need help dong it, well you have come to the right place.
For this I will assume your beans have popped and are just above the surface and have their first set of true leaves, this is the best time to stunt and many techniques can be used.
1: The smash in the face nutes;
Run close to 700ppm (or bit higher if you like) from seed and you will have stunted plants, 3 or 4 days will be enough, then drop the nutes down to around 200-300
(this is not recommended as it takes the plants a while to get back to normal, also watch very closely for nute burn, if you see nute burn flush with PHed water immediately).
2: The Tarzan PH swing; (I like this one, it is easy to do and fix)
Run a PH of 7 or slightly above from day 1, after 4 to 5 days drop back to 5.8....stunted
3: The Chainsaw (this is done to seeds before sprouting)
The only reason I know this works is because I have done it.
Get a seed and on the side is a join, now get a chainsaw file and file the join.
After a little bit of filing you should be through the seed case and can see some blackish looking stuff, this is where you would stop if you didn't want to stunt.
Anyhow file a bit more until you get just past the black, now plant it, if done correctly one of the first two leaves will be missing and growth will be slowed for a bit.
P.S. I do not recommend you try the above unless you have loads of seeds you don't mind wasting as there is a fine line between too little and too much filing.
4: The chopper (also not recommended)
After your sprout is up cut one of the very first two leaves off, in most of my trials this resulted in stunting but not always.
5: The hungry (easy to do and can be done in nuteless soil)
Do not feed your little plant anything except plain PHed water for a week or two or until you see it start to loose some green color, then feed as normal.
For older plants (3-4+weeks)
6: The topper
Simply cut of the top cola and waste a good chunk of your grow, this will not stunt but will slow it down a lot.
7: The cutter (for those who have cutting issues just remember one thing: "It's down the road not across the street")(oh that's nasty eh, bad Stunted bad)
Go look at you nice plant holding some sharp implement, see all them big fan leaves, cut them ALL off...this will very rapidly halt growth.
(NOTE: I do not recommend anyone doing this as it severely stresses the plant)
(If you really need to remove some leaves then do it slowly, a couple here and there will not cause much problems, but you are better off leaving them and just tucking them under somewhere)
8: The darkening (another easy one to do and fix)
Once your plant has sprouted and has it's first set of true leaves remove it from any light, it has to be dark, really dark, leave it in darkness for 4 or 5 days then back under lights. Your plants should be nicely stunted but will take around a weekish to get going again.
Well that is most of what I have tested and hopefully it will help someone on this crappy planet.
Oh I nearly forgot the fried rice:
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 2 tbs peanut oil
- 150g rindless bacon rashers, cut crossways into long thin strips
- 300g medium green prawns, peeled with tails left intact, deveined, chopped
- 1 small red capsicum, halved, deseeded,
- finely chopped
- 300g (2 cups) frozen peas (thawed following packet directions)
- 3 eggs, lightly whisked
- 600g (4 cups) cooked long-grain
- white rice, cooled (see tip)
- 65g (1 cup) bean sprouts
- 2 tbs soy sauce
- 2 green shallots, trimmed, diagonally
- thinly sliced
Method
- Heat the oil in a large wok over high heat. Add the bacon and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the prawns, capsicum and peas, and stir-fry for 1 minute.
- Reduce heat to medium-high and pour the eggs into the wok. Use a wooden spoon to break up the eggs until just set.
- Add the cooked rice to the wok and cook, tossing often, for 2 minutes or until well combined and heated through.
- Add the bean sprouts and soy sauce to the wok. Reduce heat to medium and cook over medium heat, tossing, for 1 minute or until well combined. Divide the rice amongst serving bowls, sprinkle with the green shallots and serve immediately.
