This smoke report has been written to give a personal, unbiased review of Dutch Passion's "AutoXtreme" autoflowering cannabis strain.
This was my third ever grow and despite problems with my soil & nutrients, I still managed to get my plant through to the end with a nice result.
The strain
AutoX is one of Dutch Passion's newest strains. It is an autoflowering version of their very successful Outlaw strain. I was given some of the AutoX seeds to do a trial run before the strain was released to the general public for purchase (thank you Dutch Passion!).
My impressions
During my AutoX grow, I was experiencing some problems. I am still a relatively new grower, but I've done a lot of research into cannabis culture and cultivation.
My problems were down to the fact I was mixing pH +/- in with my organic nutrient feedings. I was unaware that most soils will self buffer nutrients and water due to the presence of microbial life. By using pH +/-, I was killing these off and causing all sorts of deficiencies. Sadly, I wound up with a poorly plant.
However, despite these issues, it was still extremely resilient and pulled through right the way to day 75+. Based on other grows, I can tell that the genetics of the strain are marvelous. Others have had some very big yields off their AutoX plants (e.g.: JTang), so I believe that this strain has the genetics (like all other DP strains) to grow huge and produce some incredible bud.
Smoke impressions
I left my bud to dry for about a week and cure for a little while before I sampled it properly. I was expecting it to be strong, but not as strong as it was!
The high from this strain is incredible, I really really like it. It's very strong and it gives quite a head high. When I've been smoking it, I find everything seems awesome. Suddenly something boring becomes something I really want to do.
The taste and smell are excellent, just like Dutch Passion's Think Different (my favourite strain, I reviewed it here). The smell was quite similar, it smelt very sweet with hints of oranges, limes and other fruits. I almost wanted to just eat a bud to see how it tasted!
To be completely honest, it's some of the best bud I've smoked and that's not just a kiss-ass comment to Dutch Passion. It knocks spots off the weed dealers sell and I'd pick this over almost any other weed if given the option.
Closing comments & ratings
Ease to grow: -N/a- (can't really comment on how easy it is to grow as I screwed up mine, but I know that if I had done it right it would have been spectacular)
Quality of smoke: -10/10- (Great taste, very unique smell, strong and a brilliant high)
Value for seed price: 10/10 (as with all of Dutch Passion's strains, your skills are your limit. DP's strains will put out as much bud as you make them, I've never seen strains produce yields like DP strains)
