Good morning AFN,
These plants are all on the same rdwc and they are all MSNL white widow Auto max. pH has stayed between 5.7 and 6.0 the whole grow although it is trying to get acidic real fast. They are day 80. After scorching my last grow with high nutes and ph rollercoaster I made a lot of adjustments which did help but they still look like shit.

So here they are day 80 and at 300ppm and it still appears to be burning it, some people have tap water stronger than that! Is this possible? I'm using the Luca formula, General Hydroponics Micro (3ml per gal) and Bloom (6ml per gal) with RO water. These nutes contain Calcium and Magnesium. In fact if I add a calmag supplement they start looking worse. They 4 plants together are consuming close to 4 gallons per day. The ppm stay roughly the same as the water goes down. Next grow I'm trying different genetics but it is still most likely my fault they look like this.

Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated.

Would a carbohydrate supplement be helpful here? I think I might try

Funny you should mention starting water because The nutrients you are running assume a starting water of 50 to 150 PPM. I think the Lucas formula works for Lucas but have seen poor results for others not in his environment and he makes additions you may be missing.

I believe that you must present balanced nutrients to your plants all throughout the grow. There is a wide range of nutrient blends that fit in the "Balanced" range. This allows for starting Nitrogen heavy and transitioning to P-K heavy then K heavy as the plant matures. You are out of balance somewhere and this is why you have troubles.

This chart is in weight/liter not EC. It demonstrates the balance range for each element. It is difficult to calculate what you actually have in the tank and the main reason why I always recommend peeps to choose a single nutrient vendor, use all of the products in their line ONLY - do not mix and match. Follow their feed chart only dropping the strength equally for all elements in the mix to accommodate Autos need for less.

Thank you @Mañ'O'Green
In hindsight I should not have switched to the Lucas formula to minimize the variables between my 2 grows.
I don't know quite why I'm having such a hard time with these nutes. I actually switched to the Lucas formula because at the time I was reading how simple it was and you just run it all the way though. You seem very well educated one this subject. Are there any nutrients/nutrient lines that you could recommend for the seeds I have popping right now for my new tent?

So this Lucas formula has a ratio of 5-10-9 which I know was not right for the vegetive stage but from what I have read is not to crazy far off the 1-3-2 ratio recommended for flowering. Now with my 3 part Flora Trio nutrient I can create a mix that is 9-17-25 or I could do 7-21-23 I thinking that might be more in line with what the plant needs. Does that seem like the right direction to go?

lol looks like the 9-17-25 is what I would be doing if I had followed the chart like I should have.

I used to grow hydro dwc with flora trio. My buddy used Lucas formula in dwc b4 me. What is your starting ppm of your water? Are you using .500 hannah scale for measuring ppm? If your plant is drinking water and the ppm are staying the same means the plant is in its sweet spot as far as how much nutes it needs. I used to go up to 500ppm and not much past or I'd get burn on my plants when I grew hydro with GH flora trio. Are you adding any supplements or adding anything other than Lucas formula? I used 0ppm ro water. Then I'd add 150ppm of gh calimagic. Then I'd add my base nutes up to 500ppm for a total of 350ppm of nutes. Then I'd add hydroguard to protect them roots. How are your roots doing? Healthy? Smell good? More details and I may be able to help you from experience.

What media are you growing in?

I cannot with any confidence recommend anything because there is no way to know what is actually in the pot. Maybe the 9-17-25 but once again this is just a guess and I don't think a very good one at that? I cannot tell if you have overfed or under fed because the results looks nearly the same.

I am currently running The GreenLeaf 2 part Mega Crop. along with some basic Bio-stimulants. I grow hydro it is a lot of work but I always know what I am feeding my plants.

From my previous post I wanted to also add what are your water temps also? You using anything to protect them roots? Bennies or sterile?

Hydro...
PPM staying the same as plant drinks water and water level lowers= Plant is in sweet spot as far as its nutrient needs.

PPM lowering as plant drinks=Plant needs more nutrients. When this happens I do a whole res change with higher ppm and see how it goes from there.

PPM going higher as plant drinks= Nutrients too high or too much. Change res with lower ppm and lower nutrients.

Of course when the plants are younger I dont feed that much gh calimagic or base nutes. I work my way up starting at 1/8 strength for week 1. 1/4 strength week 2. And up it as the plants need. I agree with ManOGreen tho. Kinda looks over or under fed. But if ppm is stable it shouldn't be overfed or underfed so it confuses me. My guess would be to change your main res and try 100 to 150 ppm of ur calmag supplement (.2 to .3 ec). Then your base nutes. 300 to 350 ppm more for a total of 500 ppm. I'm guessing it's under fed a lil possibly and/or lacking cal mag to me. They need .2 to .3 ec of calcium and magnesium at that stage. I never had problems with using 150ppm cal mag past week 4. My plants were always healthy Green. Always add your calmag first. Then micro then bloom. Then I recommend hydroguard for healthy happy roots. 500 ppm shud be good at that stage. And when you added calmag it kept getting worse so you stopped adding it. I think that was your mistake honestly. The plants wont just turn healthy Green again. Once the problem is addressed the problem stops spreading. And sometimes it dont happen right away so patience is key. It wont make them look green or right again but it will stop the spread once corrected. I'd flush the roots first with just plain Ph'd tap water. Then do your res change like I suggested after a good half hour root cleanse. Dont drown your roots. Dont fully submerged them in water or nothing. Just right under the net pot so it rinses your roots. Then ur res change. Happy growin and good luck!
