PayPal held Hobbes' money 6 months last time he used it. All of these services have lots of rules against Cannabis sites! So PayPal is not an option.

PayPal is an option if you get 1 trusted staff member to take personal "gift" payments.

No fees... and the amounts and volume you are talking would not raise any flags.

I've done it in several areas that PayPal frowns upon and I had no problems.

I am sorry but AFN only does things on the up and up. Would you really have it any other way? PayPal is unfortunately just not available to us.

Good morning everyone!

Let me just say how incredibly grateful and blown away we are at the support on this! As of this morning, we've raised $570 of the $2000 goal, which already is keeping the server and site moving forward!

Words can't even describe seeing how many people are rallying for this; I want to personally thank everyone, donation or not, for your support on the forum. Contributing to the vibe and the feel of this place is payment enough, and hearing so many people echo how "friendly" and supportive the community has been to them over the years is really the heart of what makes this work!

Thank you to all of our staff that's helped support AFN for the last 9+ years too. This is such a demanding site; we've seen it literally eat, consume, and spit out a lot of people (some of them really good people.) But it's also been very rewarding; we've made some great friends through the years, have built a strong networking presence in the cannabis community, and are honestly are becoming more wide known/recognized in the cannabis industry. AFN has become a standard for credibility that most forums can't even touch.

And we're pushing for tomorrow and 100% we have all of you to thank for that.

We're close to having the next 6 months already secured, 100% by the community.

To address a few points:

1. PayPal is just unfortunately not an option. They are not cannabis friendly, froze our accounts TWICE, launched a 6 month investigation on our accounts, refused to tell us ANYTHING about what the allegations even were, then after that 6 month period, RELEASED all of our funds and told us we couldn't do business with them anymore. All of my accounts get auto-flagged after a day or two when they run the billing address lol It's with no exaggeration like dealing with the mafia. I found out they've done this to THOUSANDS of business accounts too (Google it, it's kind of alarming.)
   
   
2. It appears you can donate anonymously from the GoFundMe page:
   
   
   
   
   
   You can tick the box to hide your name and comment; and some of the names used in the donations were names from the forum (so it apparently isn't asking for the billing name on this screen, just "a name.") Also, you can set the tip to "Other" and to 0.00 to skip out paying the percentage to GoFundMe it looks like.
   
   
3. Some of you have messaged me asking about sending cash; let me talk to the staff on how they think we should best handle that. I'm very grateful and appreciative, just wanting to make sure we're doing this the right way is all.

I've been here since Dec. of 2013. I came here after a month of abuse on that "other" forum ( RUI ). Been here ever since. Hell, I'd pay a monthly subscription, something I'd NOT do for any other site regardless of content!

I'll be sending some after the first of the month!

@Son of Hobbes When all the dust has settled , would it be possible to have a donate button up top in the blue line , so we can donate at any time of the year .
not just when AFN is short of money , Then we as members can keep a eye on the total to make sure we are not short of funds , even if it goes over what is needed it can help with upgrades ect .
