Problem- discoloring fading on leaves

Medium- FFOF & FFHF & PERLITE & 1 cup of DE & 1 cup of EWC & 1 cup of neem & karanja all mixed together enough for 3 3 gallons and 3 one gallon fabric bags

Feed and supplements - none at all except for recharge one single time at two weeks

Water- tap @ 6.2-6.5 every other day till run off only a couple times. Mainly just water till I know before run off

Climate- 80 day temp 60 RH day and night ( bought a 50 pint dehu finally) night time temp 70

Lights- 6 qb96 @ 390 watts

Strain- rocbudinc free mix and a rocberry that looks like it’s ab to start showing the same fading and discoloring both @28 days

Run off ppm- last night one of them was 3200 and the other was 4100

I have been very diligent ab only using plain water this time to avoid a lock out so I’ve only fed one time with recharge and every other time has been water only. I always have problems when they start to flower.

3200 and 4100 PPM??? From pretty much water only??? Those, in my noob opinion, are WAY out of bounds so much so, that I am suspicious of some sort of measurement error. Are you sure that these are the readings, did you maybe slip a decimal place?

If those readings are real, I am shocked that the plants look as good as they do.

I suggest that you first double check your PPM meter. If those readings are confirmed, your soil mix is over the top too rich in my opinion. I will be interested to see what other more experienced growers have to say.

By the way, thanks for filling in the infirmary form without being sent that way after an incomplete description, it will permit quicker and more useful response to your request.

. I have a blue lab ec meter set to the 500 scale I even cleaned it and measured again. Hopefully someone can give me some guidance as to what’s happening. Thank you for the reply

Too much nitrogen? So dark. Next they will turn into crispy critters?

Is that what happens with a nitrogen toxicity? They turn yellow and die? I have thought it might be that myself bc of the ewc and neem and karanja that I added?

Do you think maybe since I saturated them to try to get a run off ppm that’s why the reading was so high?

Nitrogen toxicity (too much N) they turn dark green and your leaf tips curl downward. Nitrogen deficiency (too little N) they turn yellow and die and eventually fall off.

Are you sure the meter is set to PPM, not EC? Your Bluelab should be good, it is a whole lot better than mine. Even if your readings are actually EC, they would still indicate that your runoff is higher than I would be happy with. If the numbers are actually EC, I think they suggest that your soil mix is a bit rich, which could account for your plant symptoms. I don't have helpful experience with your soil, so I can't advise you confidently about what to do next.

Sorry I can't be more help, good luck with the rest of the grow. :pighug:

@Mañ'O'Green. Any idea what's going on here bud? I'm not exactly sure and dont want to steer him wrong. I think maybe a flush if run off is that high but I'm not sure as I've never ran into this.

First off the plants do not look that bad. The nitrogen is high but I have seen much worse.

FFOF is high in fertilizer and you added Karanja Cake at more than 4x the suggested rate and neem cake about 2x. So that pot is hot. Then you throw on the gasoline (Recharge).

They seem to be surviving so just PH water until they start to look hungry.
