Anybody have any grow comparison between the solarextreme 1000 and QB. Currently have a solarextreme 1000 and looking to purchase another light. Wondering if I should stick to same brand light or possibly switch to QB for second light. Seen a lot of people raving about QB has made me question this.

A quantum board would be more cost effective than anything from CLW but it depends on your budget and goals.

I’m currently setting up a 4x8 for my first indoor grow. Have an array of Mephisto Genetics beans. Purchased a solarextreme 1000 awhile back for this build. Got enough set back now to purchase a second light. After seeing all these awesome grows under QBs I’m not sure which style to roll with. Goal wise I’m just lookin to produce some nice tasty doobie smoke.

Hlg 550 is one choice. If you have the cash to burn then a Fluence Spydr has amazing coverage and great par. Alibaba offers cheaper qb style lights as well.

CLW also has a controllable spectrum light with UV built in. Supposedly UV improves terpenes.

Okay I’m going to give those a look. I sure appreciate the information. I’m willing to spend what it takes to have quality. I figure the savings from not visiting the dispensary is well worth it. Again thanks for responding.

The Spider Farmers look good for the money. UVA improves the terpene profile dramatically. I do not know if any of the above QBs include enough UVA to make a difference. I run 2 - 48" AgroMax UVA Plus 10,000K florescent bulbs in a 4x6 space the last 4 weeks of flower. I don't have terpenes tested but the increase is substantial.

California Light Works is an excellent company with good lights, but they are expensive.
I think the only difference will be price.
They are just as good as QBs.

Do you run these along side the main grow lights, or solely these alone?

Good deal, I may just run one of each in the 4x8 and see what the outcome is.

The COBs are on 18/6 14 - Citizen 1212 3500K Cri 90 and 2 - Royal Blue for the entire grow . The 720nm Far Red are run for the first 10 days of flower for 15 munutes at lights out. The UVA and UVB lamps are run the last 3 or 4 weeks of Flower. The UVA are run middle 10 hours of the light period and the UVB is 1 hour middle of the day.
