Hey guys!

I am about to start my first indoor grow and I am going to prepare the following mix for my girls:

65% peat moss
25% Coco Noir
10% Perlite

I will not add any dry fertilizer but will use BioBizz liquid Grow, Bloom and TopMax.

Two questions..
1) How does the soilless mix sound to you?
2) When should I start using the Grow fertilizer? Third watering-ish?

Cheers! :)

If you're inexperienced I would say around week 2 is when you should start adding nutes at half strength. If she looks like she needs it earlier ofc. you should do so.
Start using top-max a week after and only start using your bloom nutes till vertical growth stops. Unless you want them to flower earlier.

Good rule of thumb is to start feed by second week or when the cytoledons are discolored(lighten) about 3/4 way. That means the plant has used its stores to grow and will need help from there on out.

I grow in Promix soilless mix, which has no nutrients at all in it out of the bag. Your ingredients usually do not have any nutrients either, but check the bags for nutrients being added already. I use AN nutes (Jungle Juice) plus the supplements, and begin feeding day one at 1/8 strength. I also condition my pots before ever planting with 1/8 strength plus voodoo and B52. Every week I increase my feeds by 1/8, so week two would be feeding 1/4 strength, week three feed 3/8 strength, week four I go to 1/2 strength and remain at 1/2 strength the rest of the grow. If my plants are overly yellow, I switch up a little sooner, sometimes by week 3 I'm at 1/2 strength already. You just have to learn to read your plants, they will tell you what they need. I you start getting burn on the leaf tips, back down your feeds a little and be sure to always keep track of pH from beginning till end, very important. Don't switch to bloom nutes until the stretch is over (don't have to raise your light every day) even if she is showing alot of early buds.

Hi Athlete,

I would add some limestone to your mix. About a tablespoon or so per gallon of soil mix. Peat moss tends to be acid so the limestone will help offset that and provide some calcium and magnesium as well.

Good luck

Thanks for all the answers! @Oldster - Yes, I wanted to add limestone but I cannot find it here. It seems to be impossible to get a hold of in my part of the world. Anything else I can add?

This is my first time growing indoor - and first time autos. I have been thinking about a fertilized soil mix instead but would prefer to add my own biobizz to have complete control of nutes.

dolomite lime, any nursery or feed store should have it. Even big box hardware stores have it. 1 TBSP per gallon of soil, like oldster recommends, should keep you right, but I wouldn't add it until the 3rd.-4th. week, myself.
