New Grower Soil help

So, i got 3 autos just germd and in small pot with miraclegrow organic soil (oxymoron ?)

Any ways when i transplant them in my 3 gal pot what should i mix in with that soil? Iʻve seen people say bone meal or something, or do i just leave it straight organic then put additives mixed in with the water?

Also, am i correct in saying i can start to add veg nutes in the 2nd week?

last thing for now can anyone give me a layout for the nutes i.e. brand name and 20-20-20 for example

I'm sure you've heard it before but if at all possible you should get another type of soil, miracle grow is no good especially for auto's that can be very sensitive to nutrients, I'm not familiar with miracle grow organic but it probably has slow release nutrients and says "keeps plants fed for up to 3 months" or something similar on the bag, if so then it can stunt your plants which is what happened to me, someone who knows more than me help soon though so good luck friend.

Been there, done that, got the stunted plants to prove it. Get them out of that soil ASAFP.

Make your life easier and improve your chances of success and ditch the MG soil. Some Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware stores are now carrying Pro Mix. See if you can't find some of it instead. If not you will be better off mixing your own with sphagnum peat moss, perlite, composted chicken manure and dolomite lime, all available at Home Depot. MG soils, especially those with the slow release nutrients make growing autos very difficult and your chances of having a successful harvest will be dramatically reduced.

I've seen all the ingredients to make your own mix at Wal-Mart. All the stuff Muddy listed (except for the chicken manure as far as I remember, but I wasn't looking).

Yes, definitely ditch that MG soil. I don't use any of their products whatsoever. Not even in my veggie garden. If you can find Promix or Sunshine mix, that's great. If you find Fox Farms only, then look for the Light Warrior mix, Ocean Forest and Happy Frog are both still too hot to start in.

If you can get Promix or Sunshine they are soilless and nearly nute free as well, so yo ucan start 1/4 stength veg nute feeds around day 14, start slow. As far as nutes, check out the Fox Farms trio, or any of General Organics/Hydropincs nutes. Advanced Nutrients are the shit, but they are a little more pricey.

For vegging you want higher Nitrogen level and lower phosphorus, such as 15-5-10 or a similar ratio.

For flowering you want more phosphorus, such as 5-15-10 or a similar ratio. Good luck.

Do you buy all your gear at Home Depot because you have no hydroponics stores near you? I'd suggest buying from a local hydroponics store or one of the many hydro stores online. Even Amazon.com or eBay has better options than Home Depot. But I'm convinced you can get EVERYTHING you need for a successful grow from WalMart if you know what you're doing.

FWIW... I've been using a 2:1 mix of FoxFarm Ocean Forrest and FoxFarm Light Warrior. I couldn't be happier. I started adding mild grow nutes after 3 weeks. My girls are almost ready for harvest and are packed full of huge buds!

squid, dont you mean you only buy miracle gro perlite? hahaha lmfao..im just playin. anyhow i agree with everyone here, ditch the miracle gro. as far as when to start nutes, squid is right you "can" start them at 14 days, but remember, there is no "script" to a grow. Every grow is different, you have to be in the trenches before you can make almost any decision while growing. The only things you can plan ahead are your plants surroundings, i.e. soil, lighting, room, reflective materials, etc. nothing else along the way is planned IMO..
