In your experience what kind of percents do autos prefer when building a organic notill/living soil?

Coot recipe recommends 33% of each peat/base, aeration such as perlite or pumice and compost.

I have read and talked to Tad hussey about 20% compost being a great spot with 50% peat and 30% aeration.

and then Buildasoil has a recipe with 7% being compost which is very low.

So with autos prefering less maybe i could start with the low range.

Right now i have enough compost to cover 10% in the mix. it wouldnt be hard to go to 20% but 33% is a decent amount more.
Im thinking of getting 5% more compost and doing a total 15% compost in the mix.

whats your experience?

indoor 4x4 bed roughly 100gals or more. LED lights

get some build a flower from build a soil... its 50% oly mountain fish compost.. good amendment or top dress, as an amendment, mixed into soil, its necessary to add a bit more aeration. 40$ a cf free shipping..

ok i did get the 210 gal nute and mineral kit from Coot. i also have 15 gals of OLY. i will check out the build a flower

i dont think you necessarily need to change the composition of a living organic soil for auto vs photos.. a healthy, rich, balanced soil will work fine for either, but might need more top dressing for larger longer finishing strains..depends on multiple variables i guess..

Autos don't require less of anything. They feed like every cannabis plant feeds. Especially in a living soil.. It will take in what it needs, when it needs it, and in its needed amounts. Build a soil has several recipes. They even sell a Coots mix that they partnered with Coots to make/sell. Their living soil mixes are definitely more than 7% compost. They are 1 part compost, 1 part peat, 2/3rds part pumice and 1/3rd part rice hulls. Totalling 3 parts.. So it's 1/3rd, or 33% compost.. You may be looking at their lite mix or vegan mix. The common ratio is 1:1 compost to peat..

ok i miust have been looking at something different or the lighter recipe. i will stick with 20% compost then.

Hello all,
When you start your grow, even with the best soils and amendments on the market. Coming out of a bag or box the initial product is only at it's baseline. Not until the microbial life is in full swing of decomposition. Do you finally achieve your soils potential. You're soil doesn't start out awesome, it achieves it through proper environmental triggers.

You can start grooming your soil months before you actually plant your seeds. With auto flowering genetics, giving them a pre existing substrate. Greatly enhances their ability to surpass even breeder expectations. Keeping in mind container size is very important. Even in a tent space of a 5' x 5' area. Try making the entire bottom one container. Allowing the roots to have the entire area for growth. Not in small individual pots limiting growth in the vegetative cycle. No transplanting, just maximized potential of your grow space.
Peace
