Pollen from a Regular automatic male pollinates a Feminized Automatic Female.. Her resulting seeds will be Regular Automatic.
Is that right?
I’m trying to learn more about seed saving of sorts :):smokeit:

If you cross two fully-autoflowering plants, all of the progeny should autoflower.

That said, pollinating a feminized plant with a regular plant often results in intersex traits. I'm sure breeders do it, just not good ones. I'm aware that some breeders are selfing males to try to find a really high-quality stud, but that doesn't appear to cause intersex traits as often as selfing females and then adding back in the Y chromosome with a regular male.

Good stuff and thanks low.. lol i didnt really do it on purpose... i had a wicked pissah all mephed up regular that is male..may have pollenated a femenized Ronin Garden bumwine in the same space..wanna be sure i can grow the resulting accident with fair success :)

Yeah for sure, it's worth a shot! There's a lot of popular elites that came from some kind of weird intersex plant that self-pollinated; all of the dessert strains have those genes in them. With photos it's easier to sort through the bad to find the good, then keep clones. With autos, you might just have to cull some crappy plants, but might also stumble across some great ones!

Sadly, not quite that simple. That sort of cross between different strains would likely produce recessive mischief not apparent in either parent, including potential failure to auto. Serious breeders deal with this issue by careful selection from dozens or hundreds of plants over multiple generations until a cross is sufficiently stabilized to reliably produce plants that exhibit the desired characteristics.

Committing a grow to seeds from the cross you suggest will be a bit of a crap shoot. If crap shoot grows are your thing, go for it. If not, you might think again...

IMHO, if you want to make your own seeds, and you want them to produce what you expect, you are better using pollen and mother from the same strain, not making your own crosses between strains. Just my two cents of course, lots of peeps here love chucking pollen and seeing what they get. Whatever floats yer boat mate.

That makes sense...great input @Olderfart .. thanks

sounds like the thing is to not really waste potential time with whatever seeds come out of the accident lol crapshoot grows are not really my thing ... but to harvest the pisser pollen and apply it to a pisser female. And i will get pisser seeds of stability and quality. This is why i love AFN all the good info makes me think...
Now i just gotta pop more pissahs.. Wicked yeah!

High Quality info :).

Reversing a female with CS or STS is a different animal than breeding with a herm (intersex) the intersex plant will have both X & Y chromosomes. A reversed female only has Y chromosomes to pass on. Proper breeding habits do not make intersex (herm) offspring. If neither line of the parent strains have the gene, you don't get herm offspring.
The issue is poor breeding practices 50 years ago. They found breeding with herms gave you mostly femmed seeds... and it spread like wildfire. The vast majority of the popular photo strains out there have been polluted with the gene. The more we bring those genetics to auto, the more we pollute the autoflowers. Blueberry anything, gg#4, gelato, just a couple of the strains that carry the hermaphrodite gene.
