I grow with CFL, but have one small LED for plants. Like this . Some 8W/10 cm diameter.

What was the safe distance to avoid possible bleaching?
I have read about it, but have unfortunately forgotten, and most of topics and articles cover big lead panels issues. I have heard about 12 inches/ 30 cm, but not sure - was it for big panels or for such middle/small lights like this one

Would like to use to light from side. 20-7 cm from plants.

I'd say as close as u want them as long as your still getting good light coverage. There is no such thing as bleaching with leds. You can have leaf burn from them being too close but not bud burn. Search "led hashtips" you will see what im talkkng about.
I sure Those light are not strong enough to cause much damage from them being too close.
I'd say 10-12 inches.

Thanks! Any way seems bigger distance that for cfl which is about 3-4 inches. LED emits lower level of heat, but distance probably is needed for other reason.

You want to make sure you find your right distance for your grow veg cycle especially, too close youll stunt your plant too far you'll cause ththem to stretch further then you want them to.

I wanted to use led as extra side light, so that can`t cause any kind of stretch. Main grow lights are CFL, and located above plants.

You should not have any problems with the leds if you use them as you explained they will give you good penetration from the side put them as close as you like good luck

This is a Jack Herer autoflower about day 30. I've been growing image.jpg with about 500 watts of CFLs. I added a 300 watt LED Mars hydro and not sure if I had too close and what distance should be from the plant. New growth starts out yellow and greens up quickly. Pretty sure my nutrients are right about 1000 ppm last reservoir change. Thinking the new LED has something to do with that.

Are you adding any cal mag to your feed plants under led do like some cal mag

I added some the first two feedings. Maybe it's just the strain because I don't have any burned tips on the leaves. The new growth greens up fast. I raised the LED about 6 inches earlier today. See how that works. It goes through a gallon of H2O every 2 to 3 days. I pruned it twice already so lower branches could get more light. Will probably lollipop it after next nutrient change.

I bought a 4'x8' tent and 2~ 600 watt searchable lights and a 6 bucket aeroponic system and she took off!! I set her under one of the 600s and it about doubled in size in a week. Will harvest this weekend. Can't wait to smoke some. I'm guestimating 3-4 ozs. Best auto crop yet! !
