I like the sound of this but will you still allow perpetual grow thread journal blogs ,,
The likelihood is we'll do both until one proves to be the successful one people are comfortable with. Change is always tough when people are used to the same format (and we've learned over the years that sometimes what we consider to be even small changes are pretty big impacts to certain users,) so we'll do our best to cater to both fronts if we can.
Its designed for Forums to let their members "blog" by being able to create their own Blog(s) and only they can add Blog Entries to their blogs (unless they make the blog a "community blog" in which they can configure it to allow other members to also post blog entries).
Here's an example of it in progress; allows users to add in entries to a "blog," so you'd have the title (like you'd normal title your grow journal,) but then you'd add in entries. So there's the overview (which you'd describe the setup, starting, seeds, lights, etc,) then you add in your updates. Title them what you want, but you could Week 1, Week 2, on and on, etc. If you click on Full entry, it displays ALL of your entry posts at once, so you can literally scroll down pretty much from start to finish and read the grow journal like a book or document.
It keeps the comments at the bottom, so it's REALLY clean (so instead of you posting an update and users sifting through 10 plus comments, or worse, pages of comments before YOUR next update, this fixes that.) Also pulls in information from the user profile, so kind of helps to create some "identity" on each journal (some growers are into that!)
And if it sucks? We'll go back to what we know has worked!
