Spent many, many, an hour with a dubbing tool in my hand.Good eye!
When you start in the bigger pots, the plants put more energy into growing a bigger root mass, as opposed to what you see above ground. Later, these plants will kick it into high gear and more than make up for smaller or slower, initial above ground growth.Well, it has been a minute since I have updated. But to be honest, the early stages of grows are not that interesting. And mine always seem to start slow.
That is, other than when the seedlings first break the soil , that is one of my favorite moments of any grow.
So it has been a slow start, I have been able to maintain a good environment with warm temps, but I think that starting from seed in these big containers results in a slow start. Maybe it would be beneficial to try transplanting and see if we could accelerate the process that way. At any rate I am not worried about it, the plants look good and I think we can finish strong.
I did fill the reservoirs too early. The water was just sitting in there for too long so I vacuumed it out with my shop vac.that allowed me to top dress some kelp, bokashi and ewc and top water that in with microbes and aloe water. Mulch covers are on and now we wait and watch!
I Have noticed a few fungus gnats around which is something I have not had in a long time. I think they are coming from my worm bin. I always incorporate BTI, (mosquito bits) into each grow as an IPM, and I use it in the worm bin as well. I think the leaf mould, bark, and compost/manure I am using for worm bin feedstock may have brought in some gnats. I will treat again with BTI and in the past this has been very effective for me.
Below are the girls today...first is walter white, the smallest and slowest of the bunch. This is only the 2nd Walter I have grown, the meph guide does say that Walter white can grow weird and slow for the first weeks, so I am thinking that is what is going on here with mine

Forgotten cookies...looking good, I love this strain! Alas it is my last seed and it does not seem to come around in Mephs drops too often.

And last in the EB jr.is the double grape. When I was starting this grow @Fermented_Fruitz told me I should put the double G in the bigger SIP but I was all like, no no my double G's have never been big, it's all good bro!...now this double G looks like it could be a big one!..at least it has been the leader of the bunch so far , who knows tho..it is in the smaller sip so maybe that is what caused the faster start?..time will tell..as always

Anyway, hope all are well out there and happy growing to all!..peace for now!✌
Well, at least that explains some of why my new girls in 15gal pots are a bit stunted compared to the girl in a three gal pot for reversing. With a full tent, I couldn't put my humidifier was outside, right by a flap air intake. With the 3gal in the middle, the big pots funneled the vapor right to that pot. I had the wrong fan on and blowing to the back and towards the exhaust. My monitor was hung in the center, so it showed the vapor flowing in......then out. The two girls to the back suffered less and are now starting to come along. The two up front are still tiny but finally doing ok..When you start in the bigger pots, the plants put more energy into growing a bigger root mass, as opposed to what you see above ground. Later, these plants will kick it into high gear and more than make up for smaller or slower, initial above ground growth.
Things are looking good.

I wonder where the name came fromForgotten cookies...looking good, I love this strain! Alas it is my last seed and it does not seem to come around in Mephs drops too often.
Yeah! Not sure? The meph strain guide might explain? I'll have to take a lookI wonder where the name came from
Looking good!Well we are starting to take off..Day 28 and visible daily growth happening, at least for the double G and forgotten cookies. The walter white is a bit stunted but hopefully will get going soon.
I like the potential I am seeing and I could start some LST now but i think i will just leaf tuck and let them do their thing, the double G is the one that might benefit from some lst. It has a really open structure so far so i think some LITFA might be in order

Will be doing a top dress in a few days. Some of the gaia green all purpose and bloom amendments as well as a handful of ewc. I will try for weekly top waters to help disperse the top dress. And this round I plan to do more frequent top dressings especially if the plants start to really take off...which it's looking like they are about to. Try to keep the medium rich enough to avoid any deficiency especially our friend Calcium!
Peace all
noted!..will doLooking good!
Some malted barley powder in the top dress once she’s in flower will treat you well!
