New Grower Short Stuff Blue Himalya vs Blue Himalaya Diesel

Has anyone grown/smoked both of these? I cant decide which one i want to buy. I know the only difference is that the latter is also crossed with NYC Diesel... how much of an effect does that make on potency taste yield etc. please let me know

I've grown both and prefer the HBD over the BH. But I'm a big diesel fan so that's no surprise. The HBD has a bit more stoney indica hit than the BH. The BH has a bit more blueberry taste.

Thanks for the reply... interesting... which yielded more for you or were they about the same? also under what conditions do you grow... what kind of light did you hit them with... i will probably be going the cfl route as i had great sucess in the past with easy ryder 6.5 oz off 5 plants... but i might be able to get some money for a 250w hps... my tent is only a 3x2 so im thinking that with a few cfl for bottom coverage should do the trick... if not ill go with cfl powerstrips with y splitters.

Yes I have some HBD growing now in the outdoor forums. I have a male at 3 weeks that I'm going to collect pollen from to make more seeds and make a cross with Afghan Kush Ryder I also have another HBD sprouted at day 2. Lets hope she is a SHE!

Sounds great... do you have a journal? id like to watch if possible... it seems that people like both of these strains but more people lean toward the BHD first... makes me kinda wanna try the BH first! lol i have smoked NYC Diesel and Sour D and while i enjoy them i would also like to shy away from the diesel for no reason other then trying something new.

The yields were similar with both strains, about 1.5 to 2 oz. per plant. They were grown soil less in Pro Mix using GO Biothrive nutrients and LED lighting. I've since switched to the AN pH Perfect nutes and believe they would push the yields up a bit more.

I have grown both also. I totally agree with Muddy on his taste test and I find the HBD stronger also. My added info is that the HBD is a stinker when it goes to flower and grown inside will stink up your house if not dealt with. Outside it will attract the thieves and maybe unwanted other visitors so be carefull.
