Indoor Shadowgrows a Purple Rolex and Creme de la Chem

Weekly update
  • Thank you both for the advice. I ended up leaving everything alone and it is not visibly spreading off of the pumice. Thinking back... I am pretty sure this happened on my first grow but thought nothing of it. My record keeping is terrible so the notes are long gone for that grow.
This morning marks the seventh day both CDLC and Purple Rolex have been above ground. Purple Rolex is at or a little over three inches tall. CDLC is almost half the height but the other two of this strain I have grown were pretty short also. They look happy and that’s all that matters to me. I did not have time this morning so tomorrow at lights on, I will water with fresh aloe puréed with some H2O! Next week the no-till bed will get an SST and the Purple Pope will get its first top dressing of Terp Tea Grow. Tent Temperatures have been hanging around 72 degrees Fahrenheit due to the spring weather fluctuations. In a few weeks I will be complaining about the heat... hah!

  • Tent heat and humidity has been a consistent 74 degrees Fahrenheit and 53% RH. The ladies look healthy minus the stunted growth of CDLC caused by my overwatering. I found a balled up handful of worms between the tent wall and the no-till pot. They had bailed over the side during lights out. Not sure if that is another indication of overwatering or not but felt it worthy enough to notate it. Purple Rolex had her first top dress of Terp Tea Grow this morning.

  • Today marks day twenty one for the ladies above ground. Purple Rolex is doing fantastic and I messed up Creme de la Chem pretty bad. She is badly stunted. I am pretty positive it has been root issues do to the obsessive overwatering and possibly the way I mulched the top of the pot before planting. Every day in life brings a new lesson. I’m just too ignorant to learn from the overwatering lessons it seems haha!
CDLC first picture is to give an idea of how stunted she is with very little internode spacing.

  • Hello all,
Today marks day 28 of life for both of the ladies. CDLC is in bad shape with what I think looks like a Nitrogen issue. This would not surprise me since I cut my last cover crop, then covered the clippings with compost. Almost positive that has been the “Root” of her issues... all pun intended. Purple Rolex got her legs spread and trimmed under the skirt. Her leaves are a little droopy this morning from the stress, but otherwise great and got her third application of Terp Tea Grow.
Size Reference: CDLC in the brown pot. Purple Rolex in the black one.

CDLC side view. I am determined to get some amount of smoke out of her, damnit! So I tied her down sideways and trimmed a few things. Goal is to make this her last bit of stress before flower.

  • Good morning,
0630 this morning, shortly after lights on, tent temperature was 71 Fahrenheit and RH was 60%. The new AutoCobs were installed and powered on yesterday morning at lights on and the plants have responded very well. Purple Rolex got her first application of Terp Tea Bloom although I feel I am a week behind on what the plant needs. Some of the lower leaves are fading.
Top four leaves are from the Purple Rolex

  • Hello all! Today’s marks day 42 for the ladies above ground. Temperatures have been steady at about 76 Fahrenheit during lights on and around 66 during lights out. RH is ranging between 55 and 60 percent. Creme de la Chem has recovered very nicely and I am happy with where she is in life right now. She got some Aloe water yesterday and I’ve held off on the Compost Tea due to the issues she has had and will likely just drop some coconut water on her some time this week. Like I said, very happy with her health right now and I feel adding anything else at this point would be excessive.
Purple Rolex... this lady is very nice looking minus some light green leaves and tip burn. Think I had the new lights too close so I backed them off to ~30” from the canopy. She had some foliage trimmed yesterday to allow more light through and received a top dressing of Terp Tea Grow. She is not supposed to get another feeding for two weeks at which point only the Bloom supplemented once during flower with a single application of Grow.
The newly popped CDLC is looking great and is almost one week old!

    Weekly Update
  • Well, I think the yellowing has slowed or stopped its progression on Purple Rolex. Hoping I’m not wrong... She was fed her second round of Terp Tea Bloom this morning. I will trim the affected leaves in the next couple days after I have determined the effectiveness of the tea and properly PHed water.
CDLC has some yellowing of the lower leaves as well, which is what led me to believe it was my water since the issue was not necessarily limited to one plant. She’s filling out the buds nicely, considering the torture I put her through so far.
CDLC #2 looks great just like the other two did at three weeks. Let’s see if I can manage a clean grow with this one now lol! Oh, she was topped this morning and will get her second application of Terp Tea Grow on Friday.

    Weekly Update
  • Quick update today. Out of town on vacation for a few days. Everything has been watered thoroughly to await my return. Purple Rolex is still recovering and CDLC is struggling. This grow has been a shitshow for me. Really disappointed that my first journal is with riddled with rookie mistakes. Anyhow, before I left town, Pruple Rolex got 3tsp Bloom and 3 tsp Grow in accordance with the feed schedule. CDLC#2 got 5tsp of Grow and CDLC is just rolling along in a diminutive manner (I messed her up bad). There are definitely some takeaways from this grow that I must remember. One being that I must remain true to the parameters set in my grow plan... anyhow, here are some photos. Feel free to criticize, but please bring a solution to the party if you wish to share the criticism! Take care guys and see you next week!

    Weekly Update
  • Well, I returned Monday night to find my tent in sorry shape. Purple Rolex has all cloudy trichomes and a couple of amber. She will be chopped in a few more days. The buds did not build as I had hoped, likely due to the abuse I put her through, although the buds she does have are very nice looking. CDLC #1 is turning as well but likely has a week or two left. CDLC #2 is enjoying life and already bigger than the first one. Her first application of Terp Tea Bloom will be tomorrow. Hard to believe she is 5 weeks old already.

    Update
  • Hello all!
I ended up chopping both Purple Rolex on Monday and Creme de la Chem yesterday. Trichomes were all cloudy with a little amber and if I had to guess, around 2ounces total after they dry. Currently, Purple Rolex is hanging in a cardboard box and CDLC is in brown paper bags. Overall, I’m glad these ladies produced good looking bud in spite of the mishandling. I would have preferred CDLC to be a bit more frosty but it is what it is.
CDLC #2 is well into pre-flower and will get another feeding tomorrow. I also tossed another Purple Rolex into some well water to soak for 24hrs. She had a tail coming out of the shell before I dropped her in the air-pot with Roots Organics Original soil. For the No-Till bed that had the CDLC, I planted a Forum Stomper. I’ve grown three of them and hoping that knowing how they grow will help me learn how my soil is working out. This will be the third grow in the 15 gallon no-till.
CDLC#2 Leaf stood up next to CDLC#1. The damn leaf was one inch shorter than the whole plant lol
