Hello everybody,

I have some Fast Buds Northern Lights Originals seeds that i will grow in soil. I have two TGL 240 Bloom LED lights that are 80cm from my airpots, but i am wondering will i overkill these seedlings if i start the grow process with full power on these LED’s? TGL have instruction sheets for distances for their LED’s in their website were the distances are made when the LED’s are on full power and it says i should start at 80cm from pots, but i doubt that and i really think i should use the dimmer that is in these LED’s when the plants are in the seedling stages..

(There is no direct info sheet for TGL 240 Bloom, but they told from TGL that i can use TGL 220/220-3590 sheet for this and i just need to place them a bit higher. I will put them 10cm higher)

My question is how much should i use this dimmer knob at the start? Like 50%?

Also does it matter that my RH is almost 70% at this beggining state? I know that it should be way lower in bloom stages, but im waiting some black friday deals for dehumidifiers as they come pretty expensive here were i live, so i will get one in next week.

What do you guys think and recommend?

Thanks!

You could hang the light 24-30" away and dim to 50%. The high humidity is beneficial to getting the shell off, helping the roots, and getting a strong start.

Your rH is great for seedlings and sprouts.

Lighting... I run 450w of COBs in a 4x4, when I start seeds, the first couple weeks, 5 of 9 are off, and the other 4 are at 40%.

Most of the work is being done under the soil at this point. No need to overdo it.

THANKS for the replies!

I assume that i can put the dimmer into like 70% when the first leaves have come and then follow the distance sheet normally but just keep the lights a bit higher? Then like 80% in the veg stage and when in bloom stage i can go to 100%?

What point i should start lowering my RH? Obviously in the bloom stage to avoid the mold, but i readed in one of the TaNgs threads here that he aims his RH 40-50% throughout the grow. This now confuses me a bit, but that higher RH in seedling stage makes a lot of sense and i will do that.

VPD. Vapor Pressure Deficit. temps and rH for different stages of growth. Keep temps between 78 and 85 under LED, and your rH as close as you can.

Don't take other people's environmental conditions as ones you should imitate.

That is a guideline for managing Temperature and humidity. An IR thermometer read on the leaves will get you leaf surface temperature. That provides the offset between ambient and LST.
.

Something to think about. As the plants gain in size, and add biomass, they'll add more rH back into the tent. That will also be the time you need the rH to start coming down.
Seedlings at 70% I'd be doing a little dance, but would be looking ahead about a month and a half and start planning to get that handled. Here I'm heading into the wet season, and I'd probably looking at solutions for rH control.
