Hi there,

I'm about a week or so in to my first DIY R-DWC grow. I've grown in coco and singlet bubble buckets before but got bored and though I'd try this. I've emulated a couple deisgns and have implemented the 'waterfall'effect. (Think that's what it's called).

I've got 6 seedlings in, and they've all just started to reach the bottom of their mesh cups and hitting the water. I believe water temps and my ph and room temp are pretty good. RH is a bit up and down at the moment.

But, my problem is as follows: 2 out of the 6 are bent like bananas but still facing upright.

I've got 2 HLG 550s in there dimmed as low as possible, hanging about 30 inches, or 760mm, thereabouts. So I'm not really sure if its a light issue. I've never encountered this problem before and tried my best to google some answers but thought I'd try my luck here. The other 4 seedlings are pretty much identical, except straight vertical, no kinks or bends.

Any help would be appreciated and apologies if it is something so blatantly obvious :thanks:

Hi bud I've not done DWC before but if I had weak slim stems in my grow I'd want to increase the light. You say they're dimmed as low as posible so I'd start there. And again with soil I'd then pack more soil around the stems to support them and keep them vertical - is there an alternative you could do in your DWC? They'll probably grow out of it soon if everything else is right. They're probably reaching too hard for that light.
