New Grower Seedling Growth Stunted

Well, it's only on for 6 minutes a day using the electronic timer. This will minimize risk of overwatering!

I'm a firm believer in automation but I'd check the pot weight daily until you know the plants consumption rate. There is a high potential for over watering if administered volume tops plant intake. It wouldn't take long for saturation.

Your girls look great.
Merry Christmas.

I use my automated watering system for 30 mins at a time, 2 times a day.

the bottom of my cups are filled with rocks so it uses the wicking method.

Reminds me of an ebb and flow hydro set up almost, mechanic! Do you ever let it dry out completely to encourage roots exploration?

Feenix - I too like automation, but tending to them is sort of meditative for me. It'll just be like this for 2-3 more days until I return! I would have rather overwatered a bit for a week than come back to dying plants :P

Everything seems sorted here Connoisseur. As everyone has said, I wouldn't worry about growth rate just yet; as they gain more mass they'll accelerate for sure. On a first grow I'd always err on the side of caution. Yeah, interesting automation, hope it works well for ya.

Makes good sense to me.

Hello all,
I do not want to hijack the thread but my problem looks similar, so I thought it is better not to start a new thread.

I started my first grow 5 days ago.

A CFL touched my seedling and burned the half of it. I do not know for how long they contacted. An image is below.

I have 2 more seeds.
Is it better to throw it away and germinate a new one, or keep this???

Thanks in advance.

Depends.... If you can just grow one plant at a time i would germinate a new one. If you can grow it alongside with the other seeds i would keep it.
