New Grower Second Timer - DP Auto Night Queen In DWC

Ok, totally toasted now after a little visit to the MedCave and all I can smell is this overwhelming stankalicious aroma coming off of my arms, as they had brushed the ladies as I was working on them. Wow bro, GSC is some of the nicest smelling herb. I had already forgotten how much I liked it the last time, and when I tried it from another grower as well who grew the photo version.

Anyway, I guess what I am saying, is you should add that to your already long list. The smell is so strong, my two dogs are looking at me funny and can see them sniffing the air, am I'm just like, what...:peek:

Man, this is not the place for seedaholics to heal. Thankfully though, I have two Auto GSC seeds already in my pouch. I will move them up the list, but right now they are slotted as competitors for my next fall grow! Thanks for the strong endorsement, Med!

Day 20

1200 ppms
6.0 ph
78 degrees
65 humidity

Mid week update:

The Queens are doing well. I did some strategic defoliation on both, just to expose the secondary shoots, hoping to get more dominant tops growing towards the light. They responded really well. I am so happy with the structure of these plants! I am confident that I will be able to train them to efficiently use up the full cabinet.

Judging by their start and current vigor, they are going to be big ones, so my goal is to try to maximize the bud ratio in the process. They have been so easy to grow so far. Absolutely no issues! And tell me again, why would I consider switching nutes from AN?

The ppms rose a bit, but I don't think they have reached their maximum intake. Will probably inch the ppms up just a touch during this weekend's reservoir change.

Love me some Dutch Passion genetics! This grow has now put Dutch Passion Auto Blueberry in the lead for my next grow. Slightly ahead of three Mephisto contenders, which are tied for second.

Happy Thanksgiving, my AFN brethren! I have my turkey brining for a day now. Gonna slow smoke it with applewood tomorrow morning. Been doing it this way for a couple years, after frying Cajun style for a decade. Good eating.

looking crazy for only 20 days bro...really liking your set up and results. i'll be looking at this closer once i get my head around soil properly

that seed collection :bighug:

whatever you decide on next will be great, dude.

Happy Thanksgiving from this side of the pond mate, bet the turkey is amazing.

Thanks Froot! I appreciate it, dude! Just trying not to mess this up!

Genetics is why I have so many different seeds - I want it all! I agree that some of the old land race genetics should be on everyone's to do list. I just grew Wild Thailand this summer and it is fantastic. The rosin yield is ~26% and the buzz is uplifting, near-psychedelic, strong and long lasting. Cartoons are awesome on it.
True old strains rock, I come from the home of bubblegum strain and i grow two every other year only because I was gifted x amount of the original bubblegum strain years ago and cherish the old school.

Day 22

1260 ppms
5.9 ph
78 degrees
72 humidity

Did some more strategic defoliation to open up the lower shoots on the plants. I also removed much of the stubby growth from the underside through a bit of lollipopping. I want to have the plants focus energy on stems that have a chance to "see the light", and the potential to become secondary colas.

I removed the restraints, as the plants took to the shape pretty well. Will pull them back down if necessary, but judging from what I have read about growing this strain, they should do quite a bit of natural side branching from here.

Don't worry, guys. I have been defoliating these plants from week one. Had to. They are vigorous feeders and growers and I need to keep up in order to have her grow and develop with the structure I want. Medium height, wide as the cabinet, and a managemebke amount of fans and leaves to allow for maximum light penetration to the buds, when that time comes.

I will change the reservoir later today, but will essentially keep things the same. I am seeing where the big Queen may be near its limit (very slight tip burn in a few leaves). I will decrease ppm in the top off tank a touch to target a max on about 1230 ppms by next week's res change. Will read her and go from there.

Looking good! Beautiful bushy growth and excellent color.

Thanks Wes. Yes, very bushy! I find that I am busy clipping fans to try and keep them at least a little open. Enjoying these Queens.

Look at her stem and how thick it is on day 22. Just like seeing puppies with huge feet, beware to the owner that they have a potential giant on their hands.

Great job staying ahead of her in the training. She grows so much side branding, even Kate into flower she will continue to grow. Crazy aggressive strain that way. Even with no room in my tent, you saw, six plants in a 4 x 4 tent, and they averaged around 240 grams each. I did have a staggered harvest, but still, with led lights, that blows away the idea of 1 gram per watt or they said 4 x 4 could only grow 1 lb, which is only 16 ounces. I had theee times that much.
she gets big bro, and with your set up, she will get crazy big if you do t train her to stay low. You may end supercropping in the end anyway.

The true old strains really do rock! I have an original SKxNL strain I hand carried from Amsterdam back in 2000 that I still grow outdoors every season. About every 3d yr I pick the best male and female and cross em to keep my strain alive and well and my seedstock replenished.
