New Grower Second Grow

On another news, i changed my mind about Broomhilda. I have almost no clear trics, but she does not look ready. The buds don´t seem "compact" enough, and they are a bit "soft" to the touch. What i can´t understand is why does she have som muche amber trics, and at the same time still has a lot of white pistils and the buds don't seem "finished". It does not make sense. Anyway i'm going with my gut feeling and let her be.

when in doubt, add a week :cooldance: If there isn't 20 to 30% amber, you still have time to stack a bit more on. The Candy Kush I did indoors felt a be larfy but after curing they were a lot denser. And with the hybrids these days, some folks suggest chopping when you just have milky trichomes and no amber. Hell, i dunno and i'll keep typing to prove it :dizzy:

I think 20-30% is too far. 5-10% is done IMHO.
If it is a very heady strain and you want it to be more mellow going further is good. I have found that the Autos I have grown dont turn white milky but a translucent. A clear trich looks wet like a drop of dew. I kept thinking they were clear when they were not. Again some of my plants trichs turned more of a yellow as opposed to a brown amber.

Can you get some photos up? @Django_TO

I'll try to get as good trics pics as the phone allows. But i think something's strange. According to RQS this strain takes 10 to 12 weeks. She's still on the 9th week. Did you ever heard of a strain finishing earlier than what the breeder claims? Seems really odd.

Ten to twelve weeks sounds like the window recommended? I haven't had anything finish faster, only a bit longer or right in the recommended window. :eek1:
Here is a good little article on harvesting that gets a bit more specific regarding strains and effects. When to harvest according to trichome ripeness Hope that helps in your chop decision:thumbsup:

She's too young i believe. I can´t chop her yet. The trichs on most buds seem ready but, honestly, i'll take the risk of keeping her at least one more week. Thanks

some of those look like they have a while to go also for trichomes make sure your looking at the buds, not the leaves as they mature a lot earlier

Yes the trich photo appears to be a leaf. Just looking at the plants as a whole it looks like they could go a couple weeks. Tricombs may tell a different story.
They look like they are full on green and growing.
If they are putting in weight then wait. I also monitor water uptake. Seems like overnight they will go from drinking lots to drinking little.

Nice job!

If you are using your camera to take a photo through the loop. Hold the loop against the phone like it is one unit. Takes so e practice but once you figure it out it works great. On my phone a 5x zoom or about half zoomed in. worked best.

So, the girls inside the tent are beautifull monsters. Lucrecia already has almost only cloudy trichs with only one or two turning amber. I would say one more week with full feeds and 10 days flush, for the top colas. I won't harvest her all at the same time. Fofinha still has most clear trichs. But so many colas. i don't know how much longer with this one, but she's also going to be harvested is "sections".
Now, about Broomhilda. I checked on her just now. It's not only on leaves. The top of buds, on pistisl, you still find a lot of amber. But the fact is she's still clearly growing. Really green, and the buds are still fattening, i think. I'll let her be. She's fed, she'll be fed again tomorrow and i'm thinking, maybe 1 week with nutes and 1 week for flush. But i'll keep and eye on her.

I can not imagine harvesting a plant that is putting on weight. So ya. As far as the one with amber bud trichs I would suspect that a week of nutes and a 10 day flush will bring her past her prime. If she has stopped putting on weight and is showing amber on buds and you insist on flushing (i don't think flushing is required for an organic grow IMO) i think starting the flush mow may be indicated. My humble opinion.
