I just finished my first grow and I’m about ready to start my second, this time I’m going with Mephisto autos vs photo plants. Last time I used Mega Crop, Bud Explosion, Sweet Candy, Mammoth P and No Nitrogen Calmag along with promix organic soil. The grow went great but my ppm was pretty high when using a lot of mega crop during flower so this time I bought an ro filter to fix that issue. I also plan to mix some worm castings in with the promix during this round but I’m not sure if I need anything else to mix in the soil. Also, should I use anything else along with the nutes I listed above? I’m disabled and have an easier time using liquid nutes so dipping out powdered stuff was an issue last time. I’ve been thinking about switching to advanced nutrients sensi line with a few of the other additives but every post I read says to use mega crop and not advanced nutrients. I would really like to get this started soon so any input would be helpful. Thanks

I'm using Advance Nutrients Sensi A&B with my current grow, though I am in coco, the "perfect ph" aspect is a pretty cool. Not having to worry about ph going in is great. Everybody has their favorites. I have no problems using Advanced Nutrients. I have 3 nute lines that I rotate. The other two are Fox Farm soluble trio and Canna A&B.

I measure megacrop and the others then mix them with water in a Mason jar till its dissolved. Then pour that in the bigger vessel. I don't know your disability but hopefully that is within your ability. I've been using less than what the bag says to keep my ppm from going to high lately maybe also think about that. Good luck with it man.

I have nothing but good to say about using AN's Sensi Bloom for veg and flowering. As mentioned above, not having to deal with pH and every little thing that goes along with it makes it well worth the slightly larger price.

I mix Megacrop in a two gallon jug. I use a drill with a paint mixer on it with the drill on low speed. Takes about 30 seconds to mix. Newest version mixes real easy. Also if u have high ppms to start with any line u go with us gonna have high ppms once u mix nutes in. RO gives u more control and less likely to have lockouts especially if your water is really hard. Newest version of sweet candy has the pk now so no need for bud explosion. I can’t get myself away from the cost of Megacrop. I used Remos entire lineup I think around $200 maybe a little less. Was god for maybe 24-30 plants. With Megacrop for $100 I can be good for years. Once u learn how much ph to adjust it takes seconds. Good luck with whatever u decide both will yield great results once u get it dialed into your grow.

I will still have to adjust ph since I’m using soil but that’s not a big deal. What AN products do you guys use or do you use the full setup from hobby all the way to grandmaster? I’ve read to not buy rhino skin or the tarantula/piranha and use some other type of mycorrhiza product like great white along with other root products.

Mixing isn’t really the issue it’s the digging it out of the bag and using a scale vs pouring out liquids and sucking it up in a syringe. Liquids are easier for me to mess with but using 12 different bottles vs a few powders will definitely make a huge difference so I guess the mega will be easier. I’m not sure what version I have, I bought it last October.

do you guys find that mega crop grows plants that are really leafy vs using advanced?

Even in soil, there's no need to adjust the pH. Take a look at the feeding schedule in this thread here and use it as a guideline. It's very simple and uses only the bare essentials from AN.

They have Sensi A&B "PH Perfect" for soil. For my coco grow, I also use their Bud Ignitor and Big Buds.

@StonedGimp don't fall into the you do not need to watch your PH with AN. It can and will get wonky . We see it in the infirmary. I am cheap and I can grow an excellent crop of 6 plants for less than $50 of GreenLeaf products compared to over $500.00 for House & Garden (which is cheaper than Advanced Nutrients.

Put your GreenLeaf nutrients in old plastic jars with lids. It makes it way easier to weigh out. Then I just use a gram scale to weigh out what I need into a plastic cup and dissolve with warm water. You can mix it in advance a few gallons at a time if that helps. I grow hydro so I mix it in a cup and add to my res for 10 gallons at a time.

I think for this next grow I’m going to stick with mega and add in recharge. Maybe after the stimulus check comes in I’ll buy the advanced starter pack. I noticed you grow hydro and I’m thinking about growing a third Mephisto in coco along with my other 2 in soil this go around. I know nothing about coco but it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out. I do have a separate question regarding autoflower growing and Mephisto genetics. Can I grow in 2 gallon pots with soil or coco? I grew last time in 3 gallon but would like to use 2 if possible.
