New Grower Scrogging Autos

Some winter reading bro "AFN smoke out"

I just started a scrog using vast and fast auto femed seeds. I have grown over 60 of these to date so decided to try it and see if it makes a difference in yield or not. I will post a log with pics when its completef early tro mid february

Good thread, just what i needed. Hows the scrog going hippy?

Hey guys! I've been doing a lot of research on scroging. But when I search the forum, I only get information about scrogging relevant to photos. Anything I find about autos is recommending LST over scrog because of the shorter plants. But I know people are scrogging, especially with newer strains of autos getting bigger and better.

So, I'm looking for information. Maybe we can turn this into an information thread. I'm trying to get a better idea around timeframes so that I know when I should start a scrog, how long to tuck for, how much height I need, etc. The more information we can get on the topic, the better. I know there are other people wondering the sames things, and for some reason there doesn't seem to be much info out there.

Based on your experience scrogging autos, what can you tell me about the process (specifically with autos).

What height & how many days in did you put your auto under the net?
What point in the grow did you stop tucking?
(How do I know when I should stop tucking?)
When you stopped tucking, how high did your tops grow above the net?
Is it worth it? Did you get the desired outcome?
What else can you tell me about scrogging with autos?

Please chip in! Pics are welcome!

Did you get a scrog going in the end BubbleKarma, how are you finding it?

Not really, at least not yet haha. This grow I wanted to see what this strain does on it's own, and then I can compare it to my next grow which will be a full out scrog grow starting at the end of April. However I did do some late training with a screen and they are currently evenly exposed buds throughout, so even though I don't really consider it a true scrog, i'm getting some of the benefits already.

my first attempt was halted. I used a scrog setup that I used for photos were the screen is about 8 inchs from the top of the pot, and after a few weeks I saw that the stalk wasn't bending at all, then I noticed that the scrog was actually tilting the roots up out of the cocoa kind of like a tree that was knocked over from a storm so I pulled it out from under the screen. it was stunted from the roots being broken. not saying it wont work just another approach is needed, like a lower screen, or a higher screen to separate everything. I used vast and fast but I think the stalk got tree like hard and would not bend. I will try something else later. te

hippy,
lykaboss has a pretty good journal going right now using scrog setup.
I think you would definitely find some good info in his thread.

I think ill def give a scrog a go. It seems like a good option for a small space/LED grow & with tough auto genetics around like DP it could be winner. I'll go with DP TD as there are a few grows around with her & she seems to scrog well

Bummer, yeah maybe the key is to start training earlier with auto's, i don't know.

To me, the age of the plant doesn't play a part. Regardless, I drop the net over them once they are about a foot, and I tuck until it is clear that all vertical growth has stopped. The buds grew about 2-3 inches above the canopy, and they all come out pretty uniform in size. All buds above the net have the density usually only the top buds get. DEFINITELY worth the bit of extra effort. Just completed a grow, without using the SCRoG, and I wish I had SCRoGged.

my 3 best scrogs, all autos:
