Indoor School daze KISS seed to finish guide

Hello again old stoners and hello new growers and stoners.
This will be my revised KISS (keeping it super simple) live tutorial/guide.

This grow along I will show everyone step by step how I grow. Super easy to follow. Low cost and easy to do.

Items needed for the grow

Grow space and equipment

Good lighting

Autopots(optional)*

Fox farms ocean forest soil.

Technaflora pura Vida bloom nutes.

Ph up/down depending on water source

Reliable Ph meter.

Good seeds (works with both autos/photos)

* autopots are recommended but absolutely can do the same thing with out. Bottom feeding is all it comes down to.


Much like the first guide we will cover basics on everything from start to finish

Grow space ,equipment , lighting, seed selection and germination technique coming tonight
And we will kick it off from there.

And we are back.
Today will be pretty short and sweet.

A quick run down over the last week.
All of the seedlings are above ground now.
The early stages and the lst are the most work in the whole run. After that it's pretty much watch them grow
All plants are on the same regimen of light waterings more often.
Still no nutes and won't need any for a while still.
I keep my water at a 6.5 ph and have had to water daily for now as the tops have dried out every day.
I do prefer this for a few big reasons.
Bugs. Specifically gnats are a very large reason. Dry tops will help a ton with preventing gnats when switching to bottom feeding
Also it will prevent from being over saturated the whole time. Especially when switching over to bottom feeding. Having a saturated pot when you switch over will cause a lot of issues that could ruin your grow.

So I give the soil enough water to stay damp where the roots are and that's pretty much it.

General rule I use for knowing when to switch to bottom feeding is when the fan leafs hit the outer edge of the pots. If you have a very tall pot give it a few extra days to a week.

Since I dont have a second res I am just filling the tray daily or as needed for the 1 that is big enough

Not something I typically do with autos. But since I didnt have the new pots and soil yet i planted them in the solo cups. So here in a few days i will show you when i transplant them.
And when done on time and just right they won't even notice.

Also in the next week or so i will be topping and cloning the larger apple skunk and show how I do that with the photos.
All I do with the autos is lst and clip off the little wee branches at the bottom that won't do anything after they start flowering. I dont like to stress them out too much and only reason I will be topping the photos is for clones.

Yeah. More of the square autopots. That way I can try to run a bit more perpetual
Veg plants while some are flowering and when pots get removed from trays I can just drop in a new pot.
At least that's the tentative plan for now

TRANSPLANTING

transplanting is not something I typically do, I prefer to start seed in pot.
But I was short on pots and soil at the time so I started In solo cups.
Photos you can let root a little longer in the solo cups because even if they get a little root bound you have some time to correct it.
With autos if i have to transplant i shoot for early enough that they dont hardly even notice.

To start you will want to use a solo cup to make a hole for your plants new home to fit snugly in

When to transplant
After a few days from sprout when I feel the roots hit the bottom of the cups. Or nearing the bottoms I let the cups get a little dry so the soil stays in a cake when I transplant. But not so dry they are starving.
I just go around the cup giving it light squeezes to help loosen it up just a tad to slide out

Now that the cake is out and you have the whole that's perfect for the cake. Carefully carefully place the cake into it's new home and cover the top of the cake with some loose soil and lightly water a ring around the edges of the cake.
Just enough to get the edges of the cake nice and moist and the area around it to be nice and moist for new root growth.

After a day or two they will continue to grow like normal, if they even slow down at all. None of these plants seemed to mind even a little bit.

So far none of these plants have had anything special. Just tap water that has been ph'd to 6.3-6.5

The biggest of the 6 here did get the top tied down to start the LST to get her spread out a little to get ready for her permanent trellis home.

Also decided to not top anything. Going to get my clones from the stuff I'll lollipop when it's time to go into flowering
I have some more training to do later this evening so I'll get some nice how to pics to cover starting LST layer on tonight.

LST is in my experiences the best way to maximize yield.

Around the time they are ready to be bottom fed is about the time to start lst
I am only going to use the garden tape for the main stalk to get it going horizontally for a little bit while the rest gets a little bigger.
And as the branches get bigger I'll just use the trellis for those.
If you are not running with a trellis the method with the garden tape works great with all branches.

Now when starting go very slow and carefully. And start them while they are nice and pliable still. Use your fingers to bend it a little on the direction you are taking it

No need to over do it on the first few training sessions. A little will go a long way in a day or two.

And as the plants bush out. Adjust the straps and strap down more branches.

Try not to over crowd branches in the later sessions of lst.
And note that when you start them on lst it does become a daily to every other day thing for a good week or two and sometimes longer.
The reason I like to lst is to keep a nice even canopy.
With all the branches around the same height with a little space it is much easier to provide proper light to.
Also all of those branches that have reached canopy height are likely to think they are a dominant branch and pack on weight like a top branch.

Here are the bunch in solo. The 3 bigger ones are now all on bottom feeding.

Hello again.
Real short update this week
I built a second res so I didnt have to hand fill the trays twice a day with my plants.

Since the last update all I have done with the plants is a little leaf tucking. And I plucked a few giant fans that were covering up a lot.

I also tied down the tops of the ones that got big enough and re tied the tops of the others.

Getting into the easy peasy stages here soon!

Also here is an auto that I have that's a few weeks out. Not much focus on her. Same regimen as we are doing except she didnt get much attention in the beginning.
