Here are the plants from the other 2 grows that are exactly the same age. I know this is not a true comparison being that I’m using 2 different strains but at least this will give people an idea what the different sizes of rock wool are capable of.
After starting this experiment and comparing the growth I’ve come to the conclusion that I will continue to use the 4x4” cube on top of the self wrapped 6x6” slab in my 24x48” tents and the 4x4x4” cube on top of the 4x4x3” cube in my 24x24” tent. From the way it’s looking the double stacked 4x4” cube will grow nice smaller sized plants that will still produce a decent yield, and the 4x4” cube on the 6x6” slab will be the higher yielding way to go. I’m not the type of person that counts his chickens before they hatch but it’s looking like the stacked 4x4” cube will produce 40-60 gram plants and the 4x4” cube on the 6x6” slab about 80-110 gram plants. The plants that are growing on the 8x8” slabs might be slightly larger than the ones on the 6x6” slabs but not enough to make that big of a difference. Using the 6x6” slabs over the 8x8” slabs will also give me the advantage of being able to move and space the plants out better in the tray without sacrificing very much yield.
Hope these pics will give you a good idea to what’s going on with everything.
