Sativa, Indica, Ruderalis - Is it all BS?

No sir. I just stumbled upon the thing. Now I'm curious?

They pulled an EPIC bait and switch tactic.

Made it out that they were about genetic preservation and cataloguing for science; then they got into bed with big ag and... now it's about big ag.

Oh awesome. That's shady as it gets.

Yeah it was pretty well talked about when it happened; lots of interviews of backpedaling statements, etc. Lots of scum bags in cannabis for every one good one.

Remember two guys from Michigan getting arrested near Yankton South Dakota back in the day harvesting that ditch weed in the 1990's or so.
I lived there for four years right on the Missouri River across from Nebraska. It sure did smell great. No one would believe me years later that weed could ever grow as tall as 12 feet high even on this forum someone didn't believe it but a Michigan grower here claimed last year to have grown some marijuana plants closer to 16 feet tall.
In the 70's I worked on the RR in Central IOWA. The hemp trees were every where along the tracks. The hemp was transported by rail and the seeds fell out from the box cars. So all 2 hundred miles you could see the trees moving in the wind. Yes, these were trees and they looked beautiful.
Once we stopped and cut off two colas and used them as saber light swords. 3 feet long and 5 inches around they were. Too bad it had no effect.

I pheasant hunted in a field of it in South Dakota. The pheasants loved it, thick cover that was at least 8 feet tall, when something walked through it the seeds fell like rain. Endless grain.

Forgot to mention Fast Buds uses a Hawaiian strain in there genetics for Pineapple Express, maybe it came out
???
Leafly says that the photo pineapple express is a cross between Hawaiian and train wreck. Train wreck is apparently a sativa dominant cross between Mexican and Thai but with a little dose of Afghan Indica. That seems to be kind of the problem these days. There was always going to be some African Indica in the mix somewhere. Strains like Mexican Airlines, were the only non-sativa “contaminants” seem to be whatever trace of ruderalis genes are present to make it auto flower are kind of rare outside Of attempts to create a “true” auto version of a sativa Landrace.

Hawaiian pot, the unicorn of the 70s and early 80s. That $200 an ounce number seemed to be pretty much the going rate, at least according to rumor. I knew one kid in Miami whose parents were like class A south Florida degenerates. They are the first people that I ever saw that had a true VHS porn tape collection. They also had a full cocaine accessory kit and a Porsche 928 in the front driveway. LOL. The kid said that his parents would occasionally score some Hawaiian and it was $200 an ounce, but he didn’t have any to share with us at the time. I suspect that some other types of sinsemilla we’re probably sold as Hawaiian because you can get more money for it. If I Think about when my acquaintance was selling grams of Gainesville green for $10, that says that even that legendary reefer was probably selling for $150 an ounce or so, still significantly less than The stuff from Hawaii. I don’t remember what Thai stick with selling for because it was so rare by then and I only saw it once in my life. Same with black African. I saw it once in about 1977-78. I had a very small piece of it that Inrolled into a bad pin joint. Me and a couple of other guys smoked it out in front of the Pittsburgh airport and it was pretty damn good. Very nice head high. I hear stories today about street dealers here in the south selling anything that’s halfway decent as “chronic“ or “dank“ so I am sure it’s another very fine cultivars of cannabis were passed off as Hawaiian at some point in the past. I’m wondering if some good Strains to mess around with in the search for trippy weed might not only be stuff like the Mexican airlines, but also say the world of seeds Colombian and Thai auto variants. Likewise some of the African auto variants if you can get a hold of them, like the auto Durban poison from DP or auto Malawi if it exists. I don’t know if anyone makes an auto version of the red Congo or the Banghi.
Interesting story for you all, while visiting my friends out on their farm in Northern Illinois (I think 1978)...I got out of my old Ford150 & noticed a dog tearing something apart, under closer look a realized it was a blue square package with sticks in it...well the light bulb went off & I realized Hey that’s weed or something So I got the dog away by throwing a stick, picked up the torn up package & it was old dried out Thai sticks—then I realized another package torn up & Thai sticks everywhere. So grabbed the dog & went inside only to find my older friends eating lunch & high as kites...
So it turns out the younger brother of one of them worked for the City of Cary Il. & moves the police dept to their new location the last several days
Well Steve discovered the grey metal evidence locker & removed the back & properly removed the evidence as any good citizen would :yoinks::woody:
Well the only thing he took were the Thai stick bricks. They were old & very dry, but no mold...They had left them on the porch & didn’t realize the dog found a chew toy. We picked up all Thai sticks we could find, pretty funn tv bunch of long hairs on hands & knees, my reward was a baggy full...I can’t recall exactly how much they had, but I think it was like 2 pounds & as old & dry it still did the trick for you
:funny:
I’m enjoying these fruity strains on the market, so I’ve ordered Colloidal Silver & am going to start crossing some diff strains (Have a Zkittlez plant ~121 days old & extremely fruit loop smell/taste from a top I cut 10 days ago. So grow some more along with Zkittlez & Tangie Matic, cross pollinate & hopefully a year from now I’ll have Fruitalacious...what the hell why not???
(I’ll still support the seed suppliers because of the broad selection)!
I make my own Thai sticks now with fresh bud dried 3 days on it’s original 5-6” stalks work best 16th inch thick
& fresh frozen shaved hash using a zuster & good parchment paper- roll it all up like a joint (bud 1st unroll shave hash onto paper & reroll it & dry/cure just like a proper bud cure (But, since the inner bud with the hash coating is still sticky/moist I’ll use a heater blowing nearby for a few hours first couple of days then to the glass canning jar lid cracked for a few days then sealed & burped the next couple of weeks (what I’ve found is the natural bud crystallized & glued itself to the hash, and dried as one pc., kinda patting myself on my back, but my friends were impressed as they keep trying to remove them from me na na na, they only get instructions on the process picture attached
