SANlight sanlight EVO 140 and 60 series perpetual grow with biotabs Dutch passion ect

@St. Tom Ah mate, I didn't realise you really wanted to SCROG them! Personally the scrog-net could/should have been introduced already.

The best way in my opinion is to take a strong metal net, something like this : https://www.hornbach.nl/p/aardmat-v...MIvOeo76GBgQMVmJ5oCR3p4wbWEAQYCCABEgLyAvD_BwE

The 5x5cm squares are essential and although @WildBill his proposed way could work too, its slightly different than what I would propose. It can definitely work too, don't get me wrong, but after scrogging hundreds/thousands of plants I think the following setup is the easiest to work with and gives great results. The thing I don't like about the stretchy, plastic nets is that they never fill the complete grow area with squares, the holes are too big and furthermore if you really want to scrog with tie-rips the plastic doesn't work that great. What you need for a great scrog is a lot of cross sections (where the edges of the square meet) and the 5x5cm are just perfect, in any grow setup. Using them as your anchor point gives a perfect division of buds onto the net, which will then grow into the perfect screen of green.

In my opinion the plastic nets should be mainly used as support nets, either when you growing freely like you are doing now, or as the top layer in a scrog (so one layer above the metal net). They are super useful to keep those precious, thick buds upright, making sure the get the heaviest they can get, which improves your yield even further.

For anyone that wants to understand what I mean, just have a quick sneak peak here : https://dutch-passion.blog/growing-cannabis-with-the-scrog-screen-of-green-method/

You see a few examples of SCROG grows, with 4 plants, but also with 2 or even 1 plant per m2. The last picture (and the 2nd before last) shows an example of a SCROG with metal net at the bottom and the plastic net on top for the support.

And cheers to @DeanOnAuto

Peace out guys :baked:
Wow and you even use zipties to keep the stem in it's position... :yoinks:
I assume in such a setup you harvest by cutting down each budsite that sticks out of the net. Can't imagine you pulling that 5cm² netting over them buds, lol.
Question, everything below the netting is lollypopped in the end, right?

Hey @Antonio_DutchPassion
Outstanding link there! I think it covered all the bases pretty damn good! It even included the section for autos.
I think the best thing about it is that, someone with absolutely no experience, could do it.
And by doing so, It grows the home user market. And that's exactly what this website is about!
And I think it's living up to the company's name. Passion! That's exactly what that is. Pass on to those responsible for composing that article, kudos from me! Let them know that what they're doing counts!

Hey man! Can you do me a favor? I sent you a message a while back about your recommendations for some of your CBD girls to make meds for some of the veterans I supply with medicine. I think I included what I already have bought in the direction I wanted to go. I knew you guys were there in the beginning with refining CBD girls, so that's the first place I looked. He the input would be appreciated.

Just use that soft garden wire to hold them to the net. Now let's see if you wanna be "that" controlling.......... But we are talking about stoners. :eyebrows: :haha: :haha: :haha:
It would definitely satisfy anyone's OCD desires! LOL!

edit........................ Usually your Lollipop line is right about where your first net is placed.

I think I will just use the net as support see were that takes me also I bent the same branches on the other smaller girl maybe it will kick her up a gear .also here's the big tent the back black Lebanon are gonna be huge going by there shape there on the back wall and the 2 front are macncrack from seedstockers and these are 5 days behind the smaller tent so my question is again when to flip

I would probably supercrop/top all the shoots of the two plants at the back mate, especially if you want the ones in the front to catch up/become a bit bigger too. Or you should be fine that the two in the front are somewhat smaller, then just flip them now.

But looking at the branches and budsites of the two in the back I would definitely supercrop them before switching the clock. They will go through the roof otherwise. Ladies looking healthy though bro!

Yes mate, if you really want to grow SCROG monster plants, like one plant on a 1x1m or 1.2x1.2m than you need them tie-rips to keep them onto the net. With a veg-period of around 6-10 weeks, the branches otherwise detach themselves from the net.

Brings me to the fact that you don't want to pull them too tight... leave some room for the branches to grow and become thicker and eventually harden. Especially with the first 25-50 tie-rips you use.... Otherwise you risk the tie rips being stuck completely into the stem and eventually snapping it off and killing everything that has comes out of it (loosing many budsites)..

Everything below the net is normally lollypopped indeed!

Only when you have interlights/a lightbox at the bottom you should leave it on.

Another tip is to make sure all the tops/buds will be around 30cm, 20cm minimum and 40cm max. If you have a good spread this gives the highest yields with primo bud from top to bottom.

Thanks for the kudo's mate! :cheers:Our main writer Tony (really great guy) and me usually take care of these articles together (actually all of the articles ;-)), I'll pas them to him aswell!

Please send me another PM in the chat there mate, so we can chat a bit more there, in case I forgot to send you a reaction I apologise, I usually take well care of any messages but who never slips once or twice. Anyway, you know how to reach me!

You can, same as some people just tucking them under the net. But again, if you want to scrog monsters, with insanely big stems (similar to the ones from outdoor trees) a tie-rip is really needed, I have seen big indoor plants twisting and turning half of the net whilst growing/becoming older haha.

We might be stoners, but when it comes to growing...I take my hobby serious. Doing my thing and learning from masters like @Antonio_DutchPassion, @Sawney_bean & @St. Tom and many more here on this amazing forum...to improve on what I can. I try to stay away from bro-science and follow up on every article that gets posted here.
So both soft garden wire (like the pipe cleaners, right?), cable ties and 5x5cm SCROG screen is what I've written down:stir:

Yeah, man!Pipe cleaners work great too. I have the green soft wire that I use in training. I use the soft wire, velcro tape and clamshell style paper clips to do most of my training now for the basic shape.

Yeah man I get you on the scientific part. That's kind of why my live medical thread is stagnant by me. I don't have the tools to measure the potency of my medicine that I produce. It can't be accurate comparative studies without that. It can be anecdotal, but that's not what I'm after.

All my life, I have been trained to be observant. Every single job after high school, observation is a key skill and highly important. With that background, everything that I read and watch on video, I have to prove to myself, by doing. It's just the way I function.

There's always more one way to a skin cat. My first couple of Grows, I was scared to top a plant. I just didn't want to screw it up. I don't remember where I read it or watched it, but another method of training to help redistribute the Auxins more evenly, Is to just basically lay your plant over on its side. My first Earth box grow I planted my girls on one end and used this technique to just pull her over to the other end of the planter. It did work quite well. And like anything with cannabis, it's definitely plant dependent. You really don't wanna do this technique to a sativa dominant girl. LOL!
Now, the next time I use this technique will be on a photo girl that I've already run once to know how she grows. I know it's gonna be a good producer and that means she's gonna be heavy, so that means a net is a must. I think that's really the only downside to the layover technique. Not that important in autos, but for a hefty photo, it's a must. Now it does help in that you only have one area that really needs a lot of attention in lollipoping is the planting end.
That being said I think topping is easier!

Yeah, I get what you mean. I'm not ready to dip my tows into photo's yet. First want to get acquainted to regular auto's and select myself some nice progeny to start my adventure. Ultimately the alure to make an auto from a photo will get the better of me, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there 👌

OK as mentioned by my new plant sensai @Antonio_DutchPassion I've been bending and twisting the 2 big black Lebanon as these 2 things were really going to get tall and if I can get them right there going to be outright monsters anyhow let me know ya thoughts folks . also I can't thank him enough for helping all of us as it doesn't matter even strains you growing he's willing to help and he's a big part of afn and @Sawney_bean hes surely deserves a mention too
