Meanwhile back at the Ranch...
..work begins to see if we can catch the autumn season..
Before..
During..
After...
Hubby is getting very proficient with the rotovator...
...you would never believe he will be 73 later this year..
he works like a 50 year old...problem is..there is so Much work..I need to trade him in for 2 x 25 year olds...
We got a Visit to the local co-operative the other day..these are cut price places where the local small holders/farmers go for their plant.
We were saying if we go Visit every couple of weeks it will let us know what is in season at the time.
We got 20 broccoli/spring cabbage/lettuce/onions..80 plants..cost 8 euros..10 cents a plant.
The onions had 3 or 4 to a plug..so I ended up with 64.
Weeds....
..looks like I'm going to have to Live with them...
I've been looking in the farm fields around us and they all have the same problem..even with the reeds...
they just leave them...so I'm experimenting.
The crop we have just bought is being planted closer together to see if they can out grow the weeds and still provide a decent harvest.
Also..I was talking to JM and I'm going to be using some of the weeds as fodder for green teas for the garden.
I can't do a compost heap coz the reeds will just take over it..so I'll ferment them instead..
Chicken feed...garden feed..soon I'll be looking for more Weeds...
..not..but I can live in hope.
Wow Aunty, you and hubby have been busy! Looks like a different place. The aloe plants look real happy
Cheers oldster...
..Happy Friday....
For the work that has gone in it should be looking better...
..it has been a steep learning curve...
At least now we have the water sussed..the plants that we have in now are thriving...(for the minute..
..touch wood..)
