The rotovator

Big purchase coz all plant here is a lot more expensive than the UK.
hubby spent weeks looking and come back disappointed..he said even ancient rust buckets they were wanting like 1200 euro for and they looked as if they would drop to bits..
he had his eye on a one a bit out of our pocket range.
It was ex-parks..used only for the tailer...the rotovator part was brand new..never been used...stuck in the back of the trailer.

Arranged with out translator friend to go up with him to check that it worked etc..etc..

Got it dropped off @ the Ranch.
Now hubby hasn't used a rotovator before..but as soon as we uncoupled the trailer and tried to fit the rotovator he said this drive shaft isn't working properly...:nono:.nooo....

Anyway..he spends a few days trying to get it to go.on and off..on and off with the tiller attachment..which is bloody heavy..no joy.
He could get the rotovator blades to go..Or the rotovator wheels to go..but not both together...:wall:

Expat..I live about an hour south of Denia...near Alicante airport.

Ha ha No The Elvis..I just know a couple of our guys are looking for cheap bolt-holes in Spain too.
And those two are really cheap..especially considering how strong the £ is against the Euro ATM..both are under £13,000
 
Cool. That's how my folks Got their place, my grandfather was a British expat. Moved to Xabia/Javia in the 70's beautiful area. Although I have not been in years.

The hot weather is unremitting..the wind changed direction..coming from the west..off the hot inland..and it was like standing in an industrial dryer.
When we went down teatime all the plants were heat stressed.
hubby rigged up a couple of corrugated rood panels on the patio to try to protect them and the new germs from the heat/wind..but I expect a few dead ones tomorrow.

Wind took down the nd two of my tobacco plants.
We tried propping but it was a waste of time..so I took them down..

The farmer next to us has had the field next to us lying fallow for a couple of months.
Then they ploughed it into really deep furrows..I was intrigued to see what was going in..guessed potaotoes but it was the artichokes.

You see the fig tree in the second photo..we were given this blurb about that being a very Special fig tree..best tasting etc..etc..half believing
so hubby is out talking to the farmer and he gives him 3 figs..gotta say..they were the best scented.tasting figs I've ever eaten..:coffee:..Blissful..

Guess what I'll be having for breakfast tomorrow...:vibe:

Because our land is classified as rural there are no permanent buildings allowed..so people use the portable cabins like ours or the large static caravans.
You can live in them no probs in Spain..
but we had an enginerr in the other day and he says that law will be out within 2 years...:thumbsup:

We have no Want to build..why mortgage up for a house when the cabin is perfectly adequate for our needs..but it would be sure to affect the price of the Land...
building plots on the Town side sell for 50,000 euros for 500 sq mtrs...and we have a Lot of 500 sq mtrs...:coffee:
