Hey mossy, been a while :). Seeing those dragons hit the soil is balsam for the soul. I havent been keeping up with the latest deveopments on the dragons front. Whats new?

Good to See you Home arcticsun..:bighug:..I have been a Lazy Arsed waste of space the last couple of years and have only done repro so there is Nothing New on my front..But..there are some nice New Dragons being Bred by a Host of passionate med breeders.

I Need to get my Ass back in gear..:wizzy:

That soil looks like it seriously needs a drink.

Yup..I Thought I could get away with hose watering..but I was Wrong..what you have to Imagine is this is absolutely Nothing like UK soil.
I have in effect a 4 inch deep dust bowl...so when I was watering say 10% of the garden..the other 90% was drawing it out like a dry sponge..:rolleyes1:..now I can flood the land..whole different story.
I have soil.
Instant garden..just add water...:coffee:

Geoff Lawton's "Permaculture Soils" is a must watch dvd but not available on youtube, PM if interested!

Inspiartional videos that are a must see and very relevant to you dusty situation.

I'm sure you'll like them!

The Tallest..reminds me very much of one of the Original JEM's I had..:d5:..many Moons ago...sigh..

The one on the back right has the more Familiar Smell to me..but they are just developing smell..so that could change...as they mature.

Spot the deliberate mistake..?..

Bad Betty was the first to show tails last night..so she will be first potted up.

Russian Dragon was showing tail this morning..second..and Black Dragon started to show by this afternoon..:frog:

Yay..arse in gear.

Is that a Duckfoot that I spy?

Eagle eyes Ronin..:bighug:..Dutch Passions Fresian Dew..but I prefer to call her by her prototype name..Wacky Tobaccy..when I Saw that..I Knew I had to have one..:coffee:..it appealed to my Old Hippy side..

Cheers The Elvis..:coffee:..due to the run around with the agricultural water and the rotovator we had to step back from it a bit.
Then the site changes..sons wife taking ill late pregnancy..and my mom being sick.something had to give..and it was the Ranch.

I hit a brick wall with it...:wall:...took the decision to back off and Wait until we have the water situation under control before I did anything else.
Took the pressure off hubby to.

Last update we had bitten the bullet and decided to pump the water in from the sluice..approx. 400 euros in kit..4 days of hard slog getting it installed for us two Oldies..:coffee2:..used it Twice..the 3rd time we went to use it the chuffing sluice was dry as a Bone.....:doh::doh::doh::doh:...aggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh..........

Hubby went looking for the farmer who runs the co-operative..his place was all locked up...guard dogs gone...we Thought he might have shut up for the whole summer...

3 days later hubby spotted him..turns out the co-operative are fixing one of the big sluice gates further up the canal..so they have the water on divert...

hubby asks how long it will be off..will it be days..weeks..and he got the Dreaded Gaelic shrug.....and that was it.

So we waited..waterless all week..
The weather was Scorching with a strong wind and there is a citrus grove next down line from us that the guy normally
floods on a weekend..we knew the trees would need it..
so we got up early on the Saturday..and sure enough..running water in the sluice..:woohoo1:

That was last weekend..sluice went off on sunday..come back yesterday morning.
The last two days we have had the pump going solid..pumping as much water onto the garden as poss..coz we know it has a chance to be off all week again.

Nothing is Easy in Spain..:coffee:

Because we backed off from the water..we decided to get on with some jobs we Could do.
Hubby started dismantling the dead palm tree in the middle of the garden..I started getting all the dead weed and the reed waste piled up to burn..you have to burn the reed cuttings or they just grow again.

Sooooo..we piled it up and hubby went to the town hall for a Licence to Burn..yup..you have to have one here.
He said the woman in the town hall couldn't have been more Helpful..took own all his details and said someone will get back to you in a couple of days.....and they Did.

The guy says yeah you will have no problem getting a licence to burn..BUT..
we have an absolute No Burn season..it lasts from the 1st of June to the end of September..
and..you know what date he phoned...?...2nd of JUNE....:doh::doh::doh::doh:..aggggggghhhhhhhh...........

You know what I'm going to say now huh...?......nothing is Easy in Spain..:coffee:

Awe Aunty you will be fine ! I didn't know you were having another grand baby...:woohoo:
congrats we haven't chatted in forever!! you should fix that..
sorry about momma mossy..
You have the farmers blues, and farming is hard to get started anywhere really. It will take some time but once it gets going it goes for years.. I'm sure you guys assumed there would be "issues" in the first year.. The farmer down the road from me has planted $500,000 worth of cotton and peanuts.. he has been farming for 40 years and is a lawyer.. see how it works?
:pass:
