Yeah I get all that, fully, and it would be the way I'd go if my circumstances were different. However I'm going in a completely different direction, now I know I can grow enough quality weed for my own needs I'm sorted. But I've just had my eyes opened big time by the events in my DIY grow because as you know I only use GH and I keep my mixes pretty standard so that doesn't change and I don't use anything else other than pH. So compared to my current Orange Bud from the same packet the Nutes are identical, the lights are as near as dammit identical that's not going to have a big effect, and the substrate is the same, just maybe a bit more room for the roots but there was already a lots...

So not much different at all between my current 11 week Orange Bud and the DIY Orange Buds, however the first one looks like a nailed on Indica with short stubby branches and stocky buds, impossible to bend, feels like it will easily snap if I try. But the same Orange Buds in the DIY set up, look like nailed on Sativas, tall willowy spacious and very bendy, it does have some lower unsativa leaves. Now this is very confusing, if I had used some sort of hormone in the DIY set up, and I got this result I'd have thought that's what caused it. Anyway, I have no idea whatsoever why there would be such a totally different expression of the genotype. It will be interesting to see the final flower comparison.

First orange bud View attachment 1077725View attachment 1077726 short stocky super tight nodes very stiff, two other orange buds from same packet, totally opposite...View attachment 1077724View attachment 1077727View attachment 1077723

I have decided to get rid of my viparspectra after all because I have determined that really the spectrum is not that big a deal and I prefer the QB elites, I also prefer the diffused light rather than the more penetrating beam. So next I'll be investigating UV but not for a little while yet as there's no rush, one thing at a time. I want to be able to gain a more control by understanding what environmental forces can cause such huge changes. Anyway that's where I'm headed.

This three in a pot just started out me wanting more variety, and the DIY grow wouldn't have happened at all if I didn't win the Mars light, so I'm just going with the flow as it were. It felt to me like this was meant to be, I was meant to discover this but I don't know what I've discovered yet.

I just ordered a Slug.33 forge today so I'm excited to get that and press some rosin, it looks like the way to go.
This is something I've noticed the company's sell a photo to auto cross which they bring to f5 but I feel like they then run a few of wat would f6 and they fem those leaving a lot of phenotypes I've noticed most strains are potent but size bud density and such are not bread out enough could be totally wrong but that's wat it seems like anyway.

I'm not au fait with the breeding business I just trust the pros to know what they are doing, however I suspect there's a little bit more to this but I'm only just getting started on it. I am finding it very difficult to believe that these are just different gene expressions, it's just too much of a coincidence. But these are just initial thoughts, first I'll see how the flowers compare then I'll do more side by sides on the next grow.
