Hi all. This will be a simple grow-off between 10l / 2.6 gallon vs 5l / 1.3 gallon buckets.

Here's the specs:
Dutch passions Auto Ultimate, from same bag.
Same distance from 200w (from wall) led, which is on 24/7.
Same mix of Biobizz light + FLO supersoil stuff (30:1 top 1/4, 7.5:1 rest of the bucket).
Adding only water during grow, with Blumat Maxi for bigger bucket, regular size for smaller (which is not deep enough for Maxi).

Any guesses on outcome?

Here they are, 10 days after dropping seeds in soil.

Im sure you have read the general theory bigger roots = bigger fruits.
But nothing beats doing it for yourself.

Maybe you can put something below the smaller pot to raise it to the same height as the larger?
4-6 inches in height can have a significant difference in par readings.
Maybe your watering system doesnt allow this.
Growing autoflowers from seed is always a roll of the dice too.

Good luck with the grow my friend

Wow, didn't think of that. Just leveled them with a book, thanks man!

I know this is kind of a useless experiment, but as a new grower I'm just curious about what kind of differences I get between the two. I guess even the 10 liter buckets are a bit on the small side, for a water only grow.

Am curious as to flowering differences... will the girl in the small pot flower first? Will be watching. Getting ready to make a seed run, am thinking 1 gall pots..gun and done.

Same here. I took a good stare today, and they still seem identical. There will surely be a difference soon, when the roots in the smaller pot hit the 4x strength soil mix first.

Agree - Same light NOT as distance is different?

This can already be wrapped up. They looked damn near identical until a week ago, but now at day 35 the one in the bigger bucket has clearly taken the lead.

Interestingly, the bigger plant is showing some nutrient deficiency and had to be top fed with more FLO, while the slower plant seems happy with the same mix. So far I've used a 1:7.5 ratio for FLO (as recommended by my reseller for autos), and I've had to add nutes to all of them during flowering. It's definitely time to step up to a stronger mix, and try bigger containers next.

The smaller pot did indeed win the speed portion of the race. I cut it down at day 92, yield was 1.4oz dry. Smells so fresh, and the smoke is like taking drugs or something, quite strong.
