Need some quick advice guys..

My plant has been growing for six weeks in dwc, the roots had amazing growth upto week 5, since then all new root growth seems to have completey stopped.. its really concerning me as its now at the crucial budding stage. The roots are a little bit darker than normal, but not rotting..yet.. I cant put a pic up till a bit later as my cpu is broken.
My questions..
Do roots normally stop growth during flower? Does it matter how twisted up roots are(would this stop fresh growth)? Should roots be trimmed to premote new growth? What are the first signs of rot?

I really hope my plant isnt going to die..

a big pre thanks for your replies.. Hopefully we can sort out my little issue im having..

Peace..:peace:

Acording to what mine are doing they slowed done a little but still keep growing. If your roots are dark you might have your soil to wet.Let them dry out for a while, just where the sol is damp but not wet.I use a cheap moisture meter with a long probe that goes to the bottom of the pot and it works pretty good.If they still are rotting you can repot into fresh soil and see what that does. good luck.

Cheers for your input namvet..

But im growing in a bubble pot.. My roots are visible, and havent seemed to have any visible growth. They now looking like they are shrinking..

I cant put up pics at the min..

hey plur, i have a few DWC. mine are 8 weeks from clone. 4 weeks in flower now...my roots are crispy clean and white, and smell absolutely sterile. i use chemical nutes on my grows. are you using chems or organics for nutes? my containers are 6 gallon buckets, and are completely full of root mass. they drink nearly a gallon of water a day, each. i certainly see no signs of any "shrinking" of the root mass, nor any color difference whatsoever. good grows to you, and to all.

Hi buddy,

Thanks for your response, im using ionic nute line which I think is chemical. Im just about ready to give up on it now. I dont know what the problem is, im now noticing top growth has basically stopped. Arghhh..

Somebody please help...

Sounds like you are hydro, whitch i know nothing about, hope it works out for you.

your roots will keep growing right until you harvest, even in flower, as roots die the plants will put out new roots to replace them, root growth isnt as vigorous in the flowering stage as it is in veg but none the less they dont stop growing

what nutrients have you got inside the buckets as of now?

Cheers seymour..

Good to have you helping mate. In the res I have.. Ionic bloom+ boost at 1.4ec. bcuzz root stimulator, and now on canna pk13/14.. My tap water ph is 7.3 so there is about 2.5ml of ph down in there too.

The bit im finding hard to understand is the plant looks perfect, but seems to have stopped all new growth. The roots did use to have fresh growth all over, but now theres only a few little shoots coming out of the netpot. Some might say im being impatient but I can see that there is very little growth going on, and seems roots have reduced size(and twisted together)Ill try my hardest to get a pic on here..im on my phone..

Thanks seymour..

dont worry about it, its natural, she is probaly going through a transition period and it takes her a couple of days to adjust, get to know the stages of the plants life cycle , if your at week 5 then she is most probably coming to the end of the stretch period and going onto full flower formation and she needs time to readjust before you see her next stage of development :)

I wish they were still looking like that, I hope its not a problem.. Just managed to do a pic..
