Indoor Rookie Grow - Northeast - Summer 2019

Although my light’s name says 2000w it only pulls 408w... and PPFD value is 700-800 at 30”. Do you think that’s too much light? What intensity ranges would you recommend for each stage?

Thanks again!
You should be fine with that light, I used to use a 400w light in a 4x2 tent, you just need to start the light high, I used to start at 42 inches and move it down 4 inches every week until 18 inches then I would leave it there till harvest :smoking:
Oh and I just use to use the veg switch for veg and then both veg and bloom switches in flower, but now I got quantum boards so I just dim em

Right on brotha! I’ve done a shit ton more research in the last couple of days and realized if I just lift the lights higher they’ll be good (currently now at 50” from ‘canopy’ and has a PPFD of around 150-200) and will just lower incrementally as time progresses and the light should excel quite nicely!

I did a lot of research on the Aglex 600-2000 and they seem to be the best bang for buck... I am, however, a newbie so I could be wrong... but if you want to check out for yourself, here’s a link which does a solid job reviewing the light

Day 5

Babies are showing good growth... I think? I’m so new to this so, not sure what’s right.

Mixed a 1/2 tsp (15ml) of Great White with their water and will wait for week 2 to feed.

Day 11

My babies are staying short & stout. I added a Sweet Tooth Auto from Seedsman on 8/1 (I planted it separately but it took 79 hours to germinate using the paper towel method and I thought it was a dud... but low and behold... the tap root cracked and she’s doing very well!).

I think the U.K. Cheese got stunted a bit over their first week (not a lot of growth, leafs started drooping over and some yellowing). It seemed I was gentle with watering so I was a bit confused what was going on and that maybe I wasn’t watering enough, etc. I ended up watering until 10% runoff to get all of the coco wet, and that’s when I realized I never took the effing protective cap off the climate probe!...stonerrrrr!!!

I went out and got a humidifier because it was previously at 50% and now got the RH up to 70-75% (figured the seedling would do better with more humidity) with temp at 80°F. They seem to be doing a lot better... Leafs are now back standing up and getting some new growth!

I’ll give them a dose of nutrients (Jack’s 3-2-1) at 1/4 strength next watering to give them a little boost.

lookin good so far  ppp

Fuckingg gnats! The runoff watering I did was a rookie mistake, plus increasing the humidity... the soil never got dry :nono: i took the top layer of soil off and added some fresh coco/perlite and turned the duhimidifier off. Going to get some Diatomaceous Earth and some of those yellow stickies

....still getting through the rookie mistakes, but learning on the way!

Till next time

yup, made the same exact mistake me first time round...ya end up learning the true meaning behind "water sparingly", lol...:rolleyes2: and now is not the time for ur poor babiez to be afflicted with thoze little bastardz, cuz their root systemz are barely gettin established...tip -> a small fan blowin toward the side of the pot helpz the soil dry out a lot quicker & deeper ;) and don't worry, it'z a weed, and can handle 2-3 day dry spellz jus fine  ppp

Yeah, I agree. I took a deeper look and saw the roots trying to escape the drainage holes (seems like they may have been suffocating and building up fungus with all of the moisture) so I decided to go ahead and transplant them to their final destinations - AirPots - so they can access more oxygen.

I will prob wait to give them water for another day or two and let them dry up 75-80%.

My ladies are still a bit short but growing pretty consistently...

2/3 Cheese plants are doing better than third. The fourth nodes are coming in which is nice to see but the leaf tips are starting to darken, so I’m still trying to figure that out... the third plant seems like it’s growth was stunted even though it’s been on the same regimen as the other two, and it’s leafs have some discoloration as well but on the other spectrum.

I had some a little issue with gnats last week but I was able to nip it the butt pretty quickly. However, gnats are signal that there are worse underlying problems down below like fungus, mold, etc. I wish I had started the seeds in coco but I put them in a seedling mix that doesn’t drain very well, so I’m battling with that mistake.

The fourth plant in my grow is the Sweet Tooth (last picture) which seems to be doing pretty okay... although it’s leafs have been growing some-what asymmetrical.

I’ve been giving them 1/3 dose nutrients - every other watering. Nutrients included: Jack’s Nutrients (Part A&B), CANNA Rhizotonic, AN B-52, and BioAg Ful-Power (fulvic acid).
