LMMFAO! Yup! That's what my friend and I were told to do and why in the early 80's by this 'not so old then' hippie!Mainly cause this is how everyone did it forever cause they thought the THC would magically move to the bottom of the plant through gravity. But that ain’t how THC works lol.
Yes in the dark ages(pre internet) it was thought THC was mobile in the plant. It is not, so literally every time I see someone hang drying upside down I think “wow that’s just makin it harder with zero benefits”LMMFAO! Yup! Ya chop off fans and freeze the rest and make live resin, when I chop within 40mins it's in the freezer ready to make concentrates. The fresher the better imho unless u want kief. Don't let it dry as a lot of terps change and the thc oxidizes (not all) which no one wants to loose thc potency.Yes in the dark ages(pre internet) it was thought THC was mobile in the plant. I promise @Badgersbunk if you are doin this to smoke the flower then you won’t ever dry another way I promise. If you are doin it for hash you are right who cares lol.
I hang upside down and the benefit is slower drying. Even when RH is low the leaves will wrap around the bud creating a little pocket for slower drying. Then I just brush off the leaves. Canna brush/Betty Crocker silicone baster. I just use the scissors now to clip the buds into jars. Pretty much triple the speed of scissor trimming. U could actually teach a smart monkey to do it. Lol that would be cool. Have a pet monkey that helps trim your harvest.Yes in the dark ages(pre internet) it was thought THC was mobile in the plant. Thanks! I'll give it a try. I wet trim cause it's easier -for me- and I was concerned with mold when those leaves curled around the buds.Damn dude she looks AMAZING!!!!! A tip for future reference though. When you are hang drying a plant, instead of hanging it upside down, jab it into a piece of cardboard or something and have it dry straight up and down like it was still in dirt. The reason for this is because when the leaves dry and the plant is upside down, the leaves curl in toward the bud making it a pain in the ass to trim. If you let it dry right side up, those leaves dry straight out and makes trimming a breeze! This is why I think most people wet trim, because it is easier to snip those bud leaves.
also don’t worry, everybody dries their weed this way. Mainly cause this is how everyone did it forever cause they thought the THC would magically move to the bottom of the plant through gravity. But that ain’t how THC works lol. I just try to tell as many folks try is secret as possible because it is such a time saver
Instead of "Trunk Monkey", it would be "Tent Monkey"!I hang upside down and the benefit is slower drying.
