Hey Gtg and everyone from the AFN[emoji6][emoji106] yeah man I sorry I had a problem with my new soil mix I don’t know what it was I think it was the rock dust/basalt it’s the first time I ever tried this new mix, I always had good results with the original mix below [emoji116]
1:1:1 peat moss, compost (Malibu‘s or Coast of Maine lobster compost) lava rock/Pumice or perlite or whatever is available near you. That’s the base mix to that.

1 cup neem cake
1 cup kelp meal
1 cup crustacean meal
1 cup Pmb
1/2 cup gypsum (good sulfur source)
3/4 cup of garden lime
rock dust/basalt 6 to 8 cups per cub ft
8 cups Bio char
Ewc I add a gallon then after I pot my soil up I add about 50-100 live red wrigglers and start a cover crop and mulch using nettles, yarrow, horsetail, neem leaf this mix only needs plain tap water [emoji97] from seed to harvest but I prefer top dressing every couple weeks with powdered malted powder kelp and alfalfa meal etc...and mainly IPM foliar sprays every 5-7 days in veg and even in early bloom.

IPM: aloe vera, silica, neem oil and Eo if available for foliar sprays.

I mix dry then add water till it feels like a wet sponge not to moist not to dry

Anyway I flipped them to 12/12 yesterday morning. I hooked up my Dehumidier it was getting a little nip in my basement for a few days man it was cold. so the Dehumidier is keeping it warm in there now. so just need to sex a few plants one day this week or maybe next week. I have some autos coming soon from Seed Stockers Candy Dawg I heard it suppose to be a Nice auto. Any one that is on RIU or GC can enter the comprehensive grow from the Vault this is the second part they had one back in late December it was a 5 pack of Colorado cookies auto from Dutch passion.

Hey Gtg and to all the Good people on the AFN!

I’m having issues with my mix I made so I made a tea using compost, ewc, neem, karanja a little alfalfa and a bunch of stems. they have been in bloom about 7 days man I’m still scratching my head about this one! I never had problems with my soil mix since I’ve been growing organically it Has to be that new soil mix I used[emoji2373] I think I was overwatering and messed the roots up in the process but it seems like a couple of them are doing OK but I’m not happy with this run. But my next run and mix is going to be a game changer time to step my game up more! starting to read this book I downloaded to my phone cause I still have about 10-11 weeks left maybe not even that long I’ve had them in bloom about a week almost.

that’s the Maya. the Dragons blood is growing small I guess since I added about 4 inches of the new mix to that pot which I grew the Lotus in last run and only vegged 30 days then flipped no topping but the Colas where solid as rocks and the smoke is Great.

You can see by the cover crop that it’s discolored in my one 30 gallon it’s strange but still trying to figure out where I went wrong. I think it was changing to the new soil mix tbh!!! the femmed red dragon is small to but the cover crop is nice and green. I think it’s the roots that got damaged from overwatering but I was in overwatering like that lol! I have some kind of nutrient lockout on the DB and RD! There’s more to come next run[emoji12][emoji91][emoji100][emoji573] :Passing

Hey Robby[emoji481][emoji482]
That over-watering can lead to a lot of problems and it can be hard to disguised as well it's hard to say once you get your moisture level and content correct hopefully some of those issues will go away maybe letting the pot dry out a bit will be a good thing.
You know that's one thing I worry about when I use these soils that retain more moisture.
I have less perlite in them and less drainage than what you buy in one of those commercial bags because I have such a problem retaining water you know the issues I've been having or had But this crop here seems to be doing really well on water issues I have none so far in either direction. Now five weeks into flower come this Friday and the only thing I found is on one white widow little bit of a magnesium deficiency possibly but the White Widow has always run funny from seedsman so it may or may not be that issue.
Dry it out some and reassess it at that point see what you come up with[emoji482]

@Robbie714 .... How long did mix bake before planting? Karanja maybe issue???

I didn’t add karanja to my mix just 1:1:1 spag peat moss, malibu’s compost, perlite and a little pumice that’s my base mix to that I added basalt, Bio char, ewc and some garden lime. my old mix I posted a few days ago that’s the mix I’m going to stick to never had issues with my mix. Any mix I’ve ever made never needs to be cooked you could use it the same day, Maybe if you add alfalfa meal you might want to let it cook but it still did sit before I used it. Thanks for info Bud!

Actually I did dry it out before I added the tea that’s what my buddy told me on a GC organic forum. But I had a royal gorilla feminized and a Colorado cookies auto they grew fast the first two weeks then the leaves started getting dry and they just turned brown and brittle. They were only in a three and 5 gallon pot and I wasn’t overwatering them. Imo it had to do with the new mix but I’ll get it straightened out it was just stupid to add that mix to my other 30 gallon because that’s what I grew the lotus in with no problems deficiencies or toxicity. But I might be wrong I’ve been trying to figure it out but I am going to let it dry out after this run then I’ll start from scratch again using my original recipe which I have everything I just need the compost. Thanks Gtg I appreciate the feedback that’s exactly what I’m going to do is throw it right back into a 50 gallon tote I still have soil left from my last batch I made plus the 2 plants that died. I have never had that happen to me but there’s always a first time for everything I take it as a learning experience. I should’ve just stuck with my original soil mix because I have everything I need to make it.

@Robbie714 .... Dang gosh darn it ..... Soil Test?

Amazon product ASIN B01GIMOG8A

You mean this kind of soil test kit you send out?
e8dc9bbf9959301b0a9efb3c8a3d1d57.jpg
and they send you back the results and how to improve your soil? Actually I was thinking about that at first they send you back a chart of the pH the NPK and what your soil needs to improve and fix the issues. yeah it’s a Good idea for the price if that’s what your talking about, because the link didn’t work.

I just wanted to say I appreciate your help and feedback @MrOldBoy it was driving me crazy, because all I added was either from BAS or Rock duct local which my friends use and get Great results from the same mix. But shit I can’t complain over spilt milk just learn from it and move forward[emoji6]
