Oh ya, I got advice... LOL.:crying::bighug:

Put in a bigger rezervoir so the bucket acts like a net pot. BOOMshakaLAKA... Buddy you got a fine hybrid soil/hydro project there.
Room is also an issue. So what's your suggestion for bigger res? And I'm assuming if adding a bigger res we are adding an air pump and some air stones .

Looks like a hat made out of bud. That is cool as hell.

I would use a home depot 27 gallon hard plastic black tote with the yellow lid. Cut the hole so the bucket sits in 4-6 inches, add a bubble stone or two, and you will have a system like mine, but with a bucket hanging in it instead of a net pot. You will want a drip line to keep the soil moist, it wont full wick in that bucket without more holes but more holes may spill soil. Don't want that either.

total cost for just what is pictured, and the water pump inside was about $200

I have since replaced the tubing with black due to algea

Oh, one more piece of advice. That soil is heavy as hell. I might drill holes to run a support rod through it. The rods would distribute the weight to the hard edges. Simmilar to this pic of my solo cup, note the skewers that kept it at the level.

Holes all the way around bottom. About 5 inches up. I really dig this design idea. Just not sure my other 4 5gal buckets will fit in my 4x4 with that set up in there.

Sup Willie, it's a good day. There is a big honking LED light at the end of the tunnel. Life is Good.
