Sweet Seeds Replacement seeds

@Waira hit it the best and there really isnt more one could say.

I will piggyback on the date thing and its importance.

Soak method, this should only be used when the seed is old. Seeds are born with the correct amount of moisture and sugars to start the germ process. as they age those sugars and moisture levels drop, eventually making the seed useless. Soaking old seed until it sinks allows water back into the shell and increasing your chances of germination. Does not correct the issue just gives the seed a needed kick. (the main reason that breeders and seed collectors freeze their seed is to suspend the natural metabolism of the seed embryo)

Paper towel/direct germ soil or rooters. These methods should be more than enough if you are getting seeds from a bank. New or fresh seed does not need the soak. It basically drowns the seed if you will. That's why we see some rot and other things as they have all the extra water from the soak, high moisture levels in the seed already and then the moisture from the germ process. See where i am going here?

Patience is also another item that is over looked in this process. Leave them and let them do their thing, follow the steps and forget about them for 3 days.

To be honest with you guys I have never checked the temp and I am pretty lazy when I germ them I just let nature do its thing I keep them wet warm and in the dark checked every 5 days

It could be a seed bank issue I use attitude seeds and I couldn't recommend them enough good deals fast delivery and good freebies but some of the seeds I get look pale in colour usually the free seeds I have received crushed seeds in the past and emailed them and had replacements sent out for free and delivered fast

I am not here to put the blame on any of the breeders or even the seed banks I am new and learning so maybe it was all down to human error but I am a believer that we learn from our mistakes and thanks to all you guys I can educate my self on a big part of grown that I haven't taken serious

I have looked but cannot find the packaging from my dark devil seeds I found my black cream and like you said it has dates on the dinafem do not

Try it yourself.
Take the same seeds strain from same lot
Do 3 in paper towels vs 3 in cup straight to soil.

All will germinate and have either way
But the paper towel will recieve shock.
How much ia hard to say and depends on your personal style of transplanting.

The results at day 27.

The cup to soil . 5 differ strains.
All 3 ft plus

The small ones range 8in to 30inch and was done paper towel to rapid rooter to solo cup.

Ive used the paper towel method for over 10 years now. They do not receive shock as long as your aren't handling them like an gorilla.

Sure photos are fine.
You have been growing autos 10 years huh?thats pretty cool.

And every one has a differ way of transplanting from paper towel. Some damage may happen from this

I think that's a fair statement. Some damage is possible. No damage is possible also. Like Fullduplex said, if you don't have gorilla hands, you're probably leaning towards "little to no damage." If the taproots grew into the paper towel and you're having to separate bits and pull stuff apart, then you're leaning towards the possibility/potential of "some damage." You can naturally birth in a pool of water or you can deliver in a hospital bed (maybe that's not the best analogy lol.)

.... mid 70's to low 80's is the sweet spot for germ'ing,... most will pop in 36-72 hours,... daily checks in low light are fine, so you can spot the ones with radicals that are started and ready for planting,... I go about 1cm deep, placed level,..some drag on the way up will help pull the case off along with that inner membrane; if they stick, spray with water, use fine tip tweezers and a tooth pick to tease and loosen it up,.. membrane snag is fairly common, and if it dries enough, can screw up the cotyl's opening...
Sweet seeds should have been OK, at 1+ year old, even at room temp.,... Dinafem doesn't label them apparently, so who knows there,... In any case, once the seeds leave the breeder, the banks are where the buck stops! BTW, many breeders can't/won't ship direct to USA),... And I hear you on the freebies-:cuss: I too used Attitude, and had a couple misfires, plus one bought Orange Hill Special that fragg'ed as well,... no solid conclusion drawn there, with only 1 order and other freebies not tried yet, buuuut,...:eek1:

IMO and experience, if you plant before the radical is more than a few mm's long, handle them with good tweezers and orient properly, make a hole large enough to slip easily into, then lightly fill and tap in, zero damage will happen,... I know some folks even go so far as to remove perlite and the like from a small area surrounding the seed to avoid potential damage-

Perfect analogy, just the visuals here are questionable...
